“Great price and location”

The hotel looked exactly like the pictures on the website. Room was spacious and clean. Very nice staff all around. Close to all the attractions. Easy access to public transportation. Several restaurants located within walking distance where you can enjoy lots of tasty food. Pharmacy is located two blocks from the hotel in case you need some medicine or water. If you want to enjoy some local eats, then try the street vendors that are located around the block from the hotel.

We hosted our wedding in Mexico City in November of 2011 ... our family members stayed at this hotel and we stayed the night of the wedding.

The service was great and they met our every need. The morning breakfast buffet is excellent and the hotels price tag if you reserve online (or with your AAA membership with an additional discounted rate) you have well located hotel (close to most attractions/transport but not in the hustle bustle of the Historic Center).

Highly recommended.

Higher-end hotel centrally located. Breakfast options left a little to be desired but it’s easy enough to walk down the block and take care of yourself properly. Rooms were comfortable a reasonably updated – same with lobby area. Staff was great – very helpful and welcoming. If you don’t mind a little walk you can get on the train easily enough.
The experience was top shelf considering that you just can’t duplicate a boutique experience in many parts of Latin America because of economics. It was great.

The hotel is well located if you are on vacation, in the Paseo de la reforma. I loved the atmosphere and decor and it is very well maintained.
The staff, especially in the restaurant were very nice and helpful and the breakfast was abundant and varied (fresh fruit, varied pastry and bakery, traditional Mexican dishes, etc.).
Good wi fi at the room, a little tight (it had 2 beds), but not really uncomfortable. The restroom had a tub with hydromassages, which I enjoyed, except when someone was using his/her in the next room at 5 am! cause it was really noisy.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again in a future visit to the D.F.

The Emporio Reforma is a medium sized boutique hotel nicely situated on the Paseo Reforma. If you are reasonably fit, you can walk to the Zocalo for a day of site seeing or alternatively you can walk the other way to the Museo de Antropologia. Taxi rides to either destination should run you about $150 pesos more or less. (save the money and walk)

Lobby,
The lobby is rather Small with a built in coffee shop. The check in check out procedure can be slow if there are people ahead of you although we did not encounter any delays at all. The halls are quite dark.
The coffee shop is convenient for a meeting or a snack but I thought the prices where a bit high. The staff/security was very friendly throughout the hotel. The lobby is full of staff actually.

Restaurant / Food
Food is never a problem in Mexico City. Step in any direction and there is good food for purchase. We found the restaurant a bit expensive but very convenient. What we did eat there was very good but found the “sweet Breads” that is served with coffee in the morning to be a bit stale.
As you exit the hotel doors turn left and walk about one block to the “Glorieta” (Traffic circle) that has the statue of Quoatemoc. Keeping to the left you will see a large sign that says “VIPS”. This restaurant is well priced and has fantastic food. Best of all it is open 24 hours. “Vips”are found throughout the city and have always been a great place to get a great meal.

Room
The room was small!! As others have said here, and they are right, the room is good for one person. If you are a couple you should get a room with 2 beds. Yes, I will repeat this; get a room with 2 beds!! The bed provided is smaller than a traditional “queen” bed. HOWEVER, the chair or ottoman that is in the corner of the room by the window converts (unfolds) to a single bed.
The A/C is the room is like a jet engine. It is loud and creates terrible drafts. We could not sleep with it on. We left it on only when we left the room. We slept with the window open (6th floor). This was the best option. BUT this is Mexico City, the open window will provide you a night long cacophony of assorted noises some of which the origins remain unknown. I took it is stride and played a mental game “Guess the noise” and that quickly put me to sleep. Friday nights and Saturday nights have an All Night Long disco somewhere close to the hotel and even from our 6th floor room is was loud enough to imagine the DJ right in your room!! All in all, we slept perhaps 2 night of the 6 nights we spent at the hotel. One night, one of the guests down the hall found he needed to play the radio as loud as possible. This lasted about 2 hours where I believe that finally one of the security staff finally knocked on his door….2 hours!!! On our first night, the phone rang at 2:30 in the morning, it was a staff member that was asking when I wanted to pay for the room service (that I never had). He apologized but still!!!!

Conclusion

Great location. There are many choices along the Reforma. Perhaps pay a bit more to get a much larger room….in another hotel.

Room Tip: Corner room, as high as possible in the front of hotel (to get away from street noise and disco on t...

Been past here many times. And would not have stayed here as I am a regular at the Marquis Reforma. However, this was close to a friend staying at an adjacent hotel so gave it a try. It was surprisingly good. Rooms were very well equipped, a little on the small side but comfortable.
The only negative negative was when we returned from dinner there used newspapers in the lobby that had not been picked up. They were still there in the morning. The night staff need to be better trained.

It is a pleasant and centrally located hotel. The buffet breakfast is just fabulous; fresh fruit and lovely Mexican traditional food. Staff is very helpful and it’s good value for money. I definitely will go back to Emporio Reforma Hotel in Mexico City.
