I think this historic center is beautiful. You get to see the explanada with the huge Mexican flag and surrounded by all these beautiful buildings that take you to the past and then there's always something going on!!

“very interesting but quite crowded”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Most interesting visit , try to walk all the way from Bellas Artes Palace and Latino americana Tower , see the Azulejos Palace Sambors Cafe and keep going all the way to the Zocalo and the museums , have a drink or lunch at the Grand Hotel de la ciudad De Mexico

Zocalo area is great. Definitely go to the Cathedral and make the Bells tour up in the last flor. Also walk through Plaza de la Constitucion. Do not stay more than 5pm it could be dangerous

“Always Awe Inspiring”

I like to take visitors to Mexico City here because it's so huge and historic and there's so much to see. There's the Zocalo. the Cathedral, Nat'l Palace, Templo Mayor, Grand Hotel, Belles Artes, Franz Meyer Museum, Post Office and the Nat'l Museum. There are many smaller museums on the side streets. I like to top it off with a lunch at Sanborn's House of Tiles because of its historic beauty. soaring ceiling, blue tiles and the Orozco Mural on the stairwell. The waitresses are dressed in authentic Mexican costumes.
