This hotel, located in the Polanco area, is a great place to stay while visiting the city. Walking distance from many restaurants, attractions and tourist areas. The restaurants in the hotel are fantastic as well as the shopping - in particular Tane.

Room Tip: we stayed on the 32nd floor and the view was fantastic; ask for a room with a park view which is out...

If you happen to book a room at the club level, it does give you free breakfast (real one) and free drinks and upscale appetizers. A lot of good restaurants around with, very central and safe, when the traffic is horrible, the metro Auditorio gets you where you need to be in no time and safely, granted you do not look like a gringo...

Room Tip: If the rate is too high, ask for Coca Cola rate, their headquarter for Mexico is nearby.

Mexico City is a very beautiful place. This hotel made our experience even better. The hotel is very close to all major tourist sights and places. The staff are very friendly and will do anything that you might need for you.

I keep coming back to this hotel for a few years now. I am always warmly welcomed by friendly and efficient staff. They have all the facilities a business traveller needs. I truly appreciate their business center, their staff and the services. Everything happns efficiently with a smile. The only downside is the condition of the building and the rooms. For an Inter-Continental, it is outdated. Room interiors are very old; bathroom only has a tub and a toilet, the rest is outside in a corner of the room. From time to time, I get a room on a low floor, that can be noisy because of the insufficient isoliation of the windows. That hotel has great potential but it really does not some refurbishishing soon, also in view of the appearence and design (compared to other Inter-Continental hotels I usually stay at). Other than that, a good place with great staff.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your feedback about our hotel. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us but most of all that the service provided was good. I really appreciate your great comments about our staff and services, I am happy they covered and fit your needs. Regarding your comments about an urgent refurbishing, just let me mention that we are aware our hotel needs a major renovation, and as a matter of fact we are presently working in some sample rooms. It is our goal to start renovating all the rooms at the middle of this year. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the near future to provide you with the service you expect from an InterContinental hotel.

Thank you for your prefence in all these years you have chosen our hotel!

This was my 4th or 5th stay at the Intercontinental Presidente in Mexico City. I keep coming back not so much because I love the hotel but because I have a good corporate rate there.

- The good: Fantastic location in the middle of the Polanco district. You can walk to countless restaurants and bars. The area is generally safe with lots of people out and about. The hotel has a couple of restaurants, including Au Pied du Couchon and the Palm. Large lobby and fast elevators. There are some great views to be had in the upper floors. Internet speed was acceptable. In overall the location is the hotel's best feature.

- The not so good: There are often long(er) lines at check-in/check-out. The process is long and slow. I wouldn't blame the staff, simply the seemingly complicated process they need to follow, including taking a manual imprint of your credit card. The rooms are generally functional but quite dated (including two of the suites I have been upgraded to). The Executive Lounge on the 39th floor is not huge but it offers good snacks and free beer. The breakfast up there is also ok.

I'm not a fan of their loyalty program so keep that in mind as you make your choice in the Polanco area. The JW Marriott next door is a notch above the Intercontinental. There is also a W 50 feet down the road. Lastly, there is also a Hyatt Regency right next door (formerly Nikko).

In overall, if you're staying in Mexico City for a few days, this is a perfectly good property. Expect OK service, decent but not very up to date rooms, and a great area in which to wonder (outside the hotel). If you're expecting luxury, the Four Seasons or the St. Regis would be your better choices, but they are in a different part of town (not far distance-wise, but pretty far when battling traffic).

Room Tip: A high floor is almost a must at this hotel. The views are incredible.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your feedback about our hotel. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and most of all our location, restaurants, security and view. Regarding your comment about the long lines at check-in and check-out, just let me mention that we are working on that. The local banks/credit cards require a lot of procedures from us that we are trying to reduce in the near future.

This is a great hotel and the best location! Just down the street from the zoo, the auditorio national and the military camp. There's a huge park right outside the front door and it's fantastic to see in such a big and packed city. The lobby is vast and clean - they make a great drink at the bar!!! The rooms are spacious enough and very clean. It's down the street from plenty of great places to eat - with one right across the street! This city is very safe and we've walked everywhere.

For the size, cleanliness and amenities the price is not bad. In the Polanco section of the city which is quite nice. Good restaurants inside (including a Palm). The staff is helpful and friendly. There is a Starbucks just across the street too.

Room Tip: If you are heading back to the airport the Front Desk can charge the taxi to your account. They use...
