This is a must do and I suggest you do early in your trip as it really gives you history that helps inform later parts of your trip. The sole entrance is behind the large statue over the bridge so as you face the statue go to your right past the vendors and then left over the bridge. As a general rule if you want to find the entrance to anyplace in CDMX just follow the trail of vendors. Amazing artwork and life size dioramas of what life was once like in Mexico. Two hours is plenty here, and if you are a fast walker/reader even less.

Huge museum, amazing exhibition halls, everything sehr explain, a wonderful way to get to know about the beginnings of Mexico's history and all about the prehispánico cultures, great guides, beautiful spaces, a shame the moctezuma´s headress is a copy, the original is in Vienna. Must visit!

No visit to Mexico is complete without coming here. The architecture alone is a reason to visit. Highly recommend beginning your visit to CDMX here to experience the vast history of Mexico. We went on a Sunday when it is free and it want terribly crowded.

We only had a few hours to see the highlights in this museum and would have liked to have a couple days more. We had an hour long free tour that was excellent—-highly recommend. It started about 11am. There are so many treasures of the Aztec and Mayan peoples here displayed in creative ways with enough English to keep it interesting. The gift shop is worth a stop as well.

This museum is very large, and the displays are some of the best I’ve seen across the world. However, I don’t speak much Spanish so couldn’t decipher a lot of the display information. Only some displays had English information. I’m not sure if they had English recording headsets, they would have helped, but I wouldn’t have known how to ask for them
