This museum is so full of insights and treasures that it took us two days to explore. I would recommend visiting before going to Teotihuacan (if you plan to visit the pyramids), because the Museum gives great context about Aztec and pre-Aztec cultures. It's definitely worth a visit.

Through September 2019, there is a fantastic exhibition of Pierre Verger's little known Mexico photographs from the 1930's. The restaurant is very cool in temperature and has a good selection of menu items. Other reviews cover the impressive collection of prehistoric artefacts. If you can't afford a tour, go anyway. As of July 2019, admission is less than 4 USD.

Top museum. At least you
Need a full half day to visit. Make sure you hire a tour guide, they charge you $35 per hour. 2 hours with the tour guide is enough but essential to you visit because the museum as a lot of things that need a proper explanation.
You can have a good lunch in the museum cafeteria for USD$13 per person average.
Is a MUST if you ara visiting CDMX.

This museum has so much to offer! I would make sure to plan at least 4 hours out of your day and that’s not seeing everything! It had so much to offer and by far one of the best museums I’d ever visited.
