“Complete history of Mexico in one place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

A bargain at a little over $50 pesos for an adult and children are free. The museum chronicles beautifully the history of Mexico, B.C. to present. I highly recommend stopping by and you can also check out the "Voladores" in front. They are Mexican Indians hanging from a pole (a.k.a. flying) while playing their indian music. Pretty amazing. They perform for tips only so please be generous with your tip.

“If there is only place you can visit in Mexico City, this is it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

Mexico city is a huge city full of atractions, however many of those you can find somewhere else in the world.

You won´t find ANY other anthropological museum with this collection of prehispanic artifacts.

Even the museum by itself is pretty amazing but once you are inside the galleries, you tend to forget about the building.

If you are in a short trip go for a couple of hours, if you have the time devote a day to it.

You will thank yourself for a long time.

My brother and I expected to "knock this off" in a couple of hours and spent most of the day. Absolutely fascinating and a great introduction for our trip through Mexican ruins. HIGHLY recommend it.

“A "must"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

Just do not miss it as it encompasses in a single place so many masterpieces of the pre-colombian art that will give you a full overview before possibly visiting other sites. All rooms and pieces deserve an attentive perusal.

“an awesome collection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

the museum, like any other, has its idiosyncrasies, but its exhibits of the monumental sculptures and intricate artwork of all the peoples of pre-Columbian Mexico are powerful and affecting. I can only compare it to the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, where ancient temple ruins from the Middle East are on display. the museum is helpfully divided into large exhibition spaces for each of the native peoples of the nation, so that one can see easily the commonalities and distinctiveness of each. Well worth a visit of several hours, perhaps over a couple of days.
