This charming neighborhood is 10 km south of downtown. It used to be an outlying village but is now part of the city. Most famous for containing Frida Kahlo’s House, Casa Azul. On weekends, lots of people also come for the music and craft markets to the central plaza.

Really enjoyed my visit to this quaint city out of the hustle and bustle of Mexico City. It’s worth the drive to stop in and see it.

The town of Coyoacan is quaint. It's even a place where you could stay for a few evenings at a hotel if you wish. Take your time to tour and wander and if you're going to Frida's house, buy your tickets online so that you don't have to wait online. It's always busy and even more on the weekends.

There’s so much more to this than the Frida Kahlo Museum (which, buy advance tickets - the line is ridiculous). Walk to the charming park in the middle of the neighborhood, and relax on one of the benches to look at the Coyote fountains, or sit at one of the cafes and have a nice glass of wine. The church there is beautiful, with paintings on the ceiling that are outstanding. Wander the market - good prices and not so many tourists.
