Had a wonderful self guided tour of this museum. Learned as much as I could about Frida and her husband and LOVED seeing all her work.

The process of buying tickets to the museum was A PAIN but we were able to resolve that through a tour group. Book your tickets in advance and enjoy this gem!

“La Casa azul” is a must see if you are in CDMX. The museum is designed to make the visitor feel welcome into a private home but still provides valuable information and insight into the life and work of Frida Kahlo and her circle. One must buy a ticket in advance as the number of visitors is carefully controlled for fairly obvious reasons. You will probably want to take a taxi as it is quite a walk from the Métro. Plan to explore historical Coyoacan as well; no need in my opinion to book a tour of this “town within a city.”

We went there in May 2019 whilst on a stop over to Cuba.Organised a return taxi trip at the airport. There are several firms there and prices can are negotiable, important to get a return fare.
Reasonable queue outside, we were there on a Thursday, they do a discount for seniors ( thanks ) and you need to purchase a photo taking permit (not expensive).
Inside, toe courtyard area leads to the various rooms and exhibits, it,s a very atmospheric place and the displays are well laid out with descriptions in Spanish and English.
Most definitely worth visiting,

Ther Frida Kahlo museum is an easy walk from the center of Coyoacan. There's a line for those with reservations and one for those without. Make reservations, because the lines can be long.

The museum is centered around the house Frida and Diego Rivera lived in. There are galleries surrounding the lovely courtyard with her most famous works and items from everyday life. Even casual fans will find cause to rejoice. Strolling in the inner courtyard, one can almost feel the pace and peace of life in the earlier part of twentieth century Mexico City.

Don't miss it.
