one of my favorite stops. Its location close to Coyoacan is great and can walk around the market later. The house looks as though its the same. you have to pay extra to take pictures. street parking...not much.

“Frida Kahlo Museum”

It's a long walk from the Metro but worth it. Loved the house, the art and being able to see the studio where she worked. What an amazing woman.

“A must see while in Mexico City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014

Even if you are not a great fan of Frieda's art you should make the effort to visit. By the way they do have seniors rates so ask.
It is a surpringly large house and shows that her parents were not impoverished which obviously permitted her to dabble in Marxist thought so popular at the time. Her paintings do reveal the physical and mental anguish she suffered and the house and its displays provided a great perspective of the times and her and Diego's life. Highly recommend.

Frida Kahlo's house gives an interesting look into the life of the Mexican icon with Diego Rivera. With so many original pieces of art, there's something to see at every step. Also, the museum includes a lot of facts about the fashion of Frida and how it influenced designers around the worlds.

The line was long, but hey, its Mexico City and even in December the weather is great and spirits are high - so try to make some friends.

Coyoacan, the surrounding neighborhood (old town of Mexico City) is definitely worth a stroll afterwards. There are many bars, markets, and churro stands. Because as much as Mexico City is a great tourist city (unknown to many americans), it is an incredible food/culture city.

“Heaven.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

I loved the museum and could have spent way more time there but my tour was shorter. I was lucky to see the exhibit with some of her personal wardrobe and accessories. If you love Frida you will love to see anything that shows the history of her life. I found it to be very special to have the opportunity to see so many huge pieces of her life there in one house. The gardens were also very beautiful. The gift shop was pitiful only having a few postcards and books to offer.
