Owner description: The lifelong home of Frida Kahlo is now a museum dedicated to the work of this famous 20th-century artist.

It is a small museum with a small collection, but it reveals a lot about the artist and acquaints visitors with her work and life history. Most of the artifacts are the contents of the artist's home and studio. Don't miss the display of Friday's clothes!

It's not just the story of Frida that is engrossing, but the presentation is perfect- showing her environment and inspirations, her life. Really well thought out and put together museum.

Even if it's just watching the film 'Frida', it's worth know about her before you go. The house is in the middle of a residential neighbourhood but easy to find. Well laid out and exhibited with good explanations in Spanish and English.
Nice gardens with some quotes from Rivera, and a cafe.
Don't miss the extra bit of the museum which displays some of her clothes and more personal items that were locked up in a room of the house which was only recently opened.
My only negative about the museum is that when you enter a room, the placard describing what the room is displaying is on the opposite side of the room. It would make far more sense to have it at the entry point of the room.
Worth going to the Trotsky museum at the same time as they are only a few blocks away from each other.

I went on a Sunday and had to wait in line for 20mn before entering the house. The rooms were beautiful and the courtyard emanated an aura of peacefulness. However, the crowds kind of killed it for me - I was basically suffocating inside the house. I may have come on a bad day, but I've been told it gets crowded pretty often. Just something to keep in mind.

The garden with Diego Rivera's pre-hispanic sculpture collection, Frída's paintings, her personal toy collection, her work area, the bed with the mirror, corsets she had to wear because of the accident are all on view and most interesting.
