What a dream come true to visit such a historical place. We were lucky to visit on a day they were having a promotion, so we were able to visit La Casa Azul & Diego Rivera Museum. La Casa Azul had Frida Kahlo's dresses which were on loan from the Dolores Olmedo museum, amazing to see. The people working there are not too friendly or helpful, they seemed to be annoyed when you asked questions, some were very helpful others were too busy chatting with each other to notice the tourist.
You will get to see many of the rooms intact with Diego & Frida's personal belongings, you'll need to pay an extra fee to take pictures inside the museum.

My wife and I had a wonderfull time imagening what life was like for Frida and Diego at their Mexico city house.
You can almost feel her pain as you walk through the house and can definetely see her inspiration...
This is a must see destination for any one who loves art and/or history.

The museum is a great place to see where she lived, worked, and died. But be careful of the taxi cabs waiting for you. We were told you could get a cab for $3usd out side to take you to Diego Rivera museum. So we took a cab that was waiting and got several blocks and he said it was $12usd and then dropped us off and the museum was closed. Only bad experience in Mexico and have been many times. Hope to get back to see his museum also.

Her home is quite large with many pieces of her art. Also, there are many artifacts from her life -- most of which were not discovered in 2004, fifty years after her death. Currently, Vogue has a temporary exhibition in which designers designed clothes inspired by her. Just fascinating.
I recommend first going to the Diego Rivera studio museum and watching the Frida Kahlo movie -- worth the trip!

I think that if you are going to go to this museum you should know something about Frida and Diego, because knowing about their lives turns this into a uniquely moving experience. I was really haunted by the visit, especially by Frida's room with her death mask. The garden is lovely. At the time I visited they had an exhibition on Frida-influenced fashion which also showed the medical corsets and other items she had to wear or craft for herself due to her physical difficulties, which was incredibly interesting. I definitely recommend this as a place to visit.
