Owner description: For a great selection of Mexican crafts, visit the Ciudadela, four blocks south of the Alameda Park on Balderas Avenue just south of Paseo de la Reforma. It's a semi-covered market that covers 16,000 square meters with more than 200 stalls. It's worth quite a chunk of time if you want the full tour. There are some great comedores (food stalls) if you need a pick-me-up snack or beverage.

“Block-sized permanent craft market”

This is where you have the largest single collection of crafts from all of Mexico. Bargain gently as the vendors readily offer discounts with a smile. Only one mediocre cafe in the middle of the market.

“Great market for craftworks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2012

Make sure you have plenty of time and good walking shoes. Hundreds of stalls selling all the souvenirs gifts you will ever want. Good prices and the smallholders are helpful and not pushy. Beautiful traditional crafts as well as clothes and toys

“Overpriced!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2012

This is the third time I am visiting this place andI can't believe how much the prices have risen. I don't it's because I visited Puebla and I did the most of the shopping already but I can't get over the prices of silver items. I've tried to bargain but still the price is way pricier. If you are a bargain shopper like me stop by the mercado coyoacan and the flea market near zocalo de coyoacan if you are visiting Frida Kahlo museum.

“Quality hit and miss; fun in the park”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2012

My daughter purchased a particular item here a few years back and I tried to find same but the same quality was lacking. There were very nice things appropriately priced and some hastily painted garbage that was also appropriately priced. I waited until Saturday afternoon to go as I also wanted to see the dancing in the park and was not disappointed. People were playing different types of music in different areas and a great number of people were dancing. I was asked to dance many times and thoroughly enjoyed myself. There were a number of police nearby and all seemed to turn a blind eye to the bottles of tequila being freely shared by the participants. Not drunks or trouble, just a lot of smiles.
