It's been said before but Hotel Catedral really is a great find in Mexico City.

The location is great, the staff are friendly and professional, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the terrace is a great spot to relax.

Our room, with a balcony, was a bit noisy but it didn't bother us too much and we liked being able to look out onto the street.

All in all highly recommended.

This hotel is great value and very well located for the historic centre of Mexico City. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is yummy and the rooms are clean. The only downsides are 1. the wifi is very slow and 2. the walls and doors are very thin so you can hear everything from the corridors. But overall a good place to stay and great value for money.

4 of us shared 1 room with double beds. It was pretty comfortable, great experience. Customer service was excellence. Elevators were a little slow so we often had to hike up and down the 6 floors, good exercise anyway! Breakfast is excellent, the kitchen crew is outstanding. Telma is an excellent cook and goes out of her way to please customers. Jazmin was also really great in the dining room area.

The "property" in and of itself is above average though not distinguished architecturally. It is clean, comfortable, with air conditioning that works, linens changed daily, floors vaccumed. It's in a fabulous, historic center location walkable to everything. The STAND OUT for Hotel Catedral is their service and that's why I rate it a 5. Every staff member is connected by portable voice communication to ensure that the customer comes first and every need is anticipated. I've never been treated so well at boutique or 5-star hotels. I was amazed to find complimentary water in the room daily. Fresh fruit at the reception desk available free for guests throughout the day. And, the complimentary buffet breakfast is delicious. Room has a safe, too. Kudos to management and staff for making this a special 4-day Mexico City vacation. Thank you.

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room. They gave me #414 on an inside courtyard with a view of the cathedral. J...

We stayed here for two nights. It's a great hotel, clean rooms, very safe and two blocks away from things to see. We were happy to get all the fun little surprises a hotel can offer, like free water bottles every day. The service is great, the people at the reception always helped with a smile.

Only thing is that the walls are a bit thin, so you can hear noise from the lobby...

My wife and I were in Mexico City August 22-29, 2013, because I was registered for the August 25 marathon, which I finished in 4:50:29!

We stayed at the nearby Hampton Inn Centro Histórico, but after we checked in we decided to walk around downtown. We knew of this restaurant so we stopped in for a meal. It offers simple, good, and inexpensive food. We recommend it.

Hotel Catedral is perfectly located to see all sights in the historical section of the city. It's right behind the cathedral and zocalo, close to shopping, restaurants, museums,
ruins, Diego murals. It's upmarket, clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful.
I have stayed here twice and will stay again. Highly recommended.
