Hyatt Regency Mexico City

Stayed a week. Very happy. It is a very well organized hotel. I used to stay in a good boutique hotel in Mexico City but it didn't provided the security and services that I wanted. The Hyatt is very convenient as their taxi network is vast and it never takes more than 5 min to get a car even at rush hours. The gym and the pool are great. Breakfast buffet is also very good and offer a great choice of Mexican and western food. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Upper floor rooms must offer a better view. Rooms and beds are very comfortable. Very quiet rooms.
We only tried the Japanese restaurant which was good but pricy.
Wifi works very well and is free but you have to re-register quite often.
All in all I recommend greatly this hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel, and perfectly maintained, including all new carpets, and luxury bedding in my room. The legacy of the old Hotel Nikko days is a very good Japanese restaurant on the ground floor, if you want a change from Mexican food. There was also quite a nice exhibit of contemporary Mexican painting and sculpture which filled the lobby areas on 3 floors.
I am happy to say that the Chapultepec Park area seems to have totally recovered from fear of crime. We walked throughout the park which was filled with young couples pushing high-end baby strollers, lots of young people, and some foreign tourists. The day was sunny, and there were several native dance and acrobatic groups performing. And the National Museum of Anthropology continues to be one of the best museums in the world!

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room, and we received that.

Since the hotel changed to Hyatt Regency ( from previous Nikko ) it's been improving everyday! from the lobby decor and service to the rooms quality, comfort and decor. We had been there for 3 nights and was amazing, the service is really great, rooms are so clea, great amenities, and drinks and snacks in the room, great quality sleep. When booking they usually offer a junior suite rate (it's aboiut 20 to 50 dolars more) but it totally worth, you have breakfast included on the business lounge on 40th floor, a free ironing for shirts, and lots of more convenience. location is a plus, close to all main restaurants and bar and easy access to business areas and parks.
Really a great stay!

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms with Polanco neighborhood view, it's spectacular!

The best thing about this hotel is the Mexican coffee from a pot. I had a minimum three cups in the morning. Super breakfasts, and its a place you really want to linger. We also ate dinner here and while not totally authentic Mexican food, it was pretty good.
The lobby is ultra-modern and the bar area lovely.
My room wasn't huge but had everything. Good wifi, and an amazing view of the park.
The gym and pool are fantastic too - recommend a look, even if its just to look out on the terrace.

One criticism was I was near the lifts and the noise drove me crazy at night. They are extremely loud.

If you stay here I would opt for the regency club. It offers great value for the money. It offers one of the better breakfasts I've had on a club floor and alone makes it worth the extra money. The service is attentive and ever present without being overly pushy. It is in a great location in Polanco. I would recommend this to anyone wanting stay in the safe area of Polanco which is walking distance to the park and other attractions.

Room Tip: Get a park facing room, even numbered rooms

Stayed there for one night in March 2013. In a nutshell: perfect business hotel. Great and efficient welcome at reception (despite the fact that the hotel was fully booked and very busy). Everything was ready, got to the room instantly. Rooms are functional and offer anything a business traveller needs. Brakfast at the lounge was great - above average choice for an executive lounge breakfast. Service was very attentive and efficient. Same impression at check-out. Location is perfect for my business needs. Would certainly go there again, especially on such competitive rates. The only thing one might miss is the "taste of luxury" that Hyatt usually has; but that might be because the building is a bit outdated and, in my opinion, will need a soft refurbishing soon.

Safe, nice, accommodating, good breakfast and attentive personnel. WiFi works and it's for free (i was on a business rate basis). Nearby there are lots of bars, coffee places and restaurants to which you can easily walk to. No complains at all. My stay here worked out perfectly.
