Stayed here for leisure for one night at the weekend, got a good rate for what it was and we got upgraded to an executive room. This hotel chain has a reputation for nickel-and-diming at every opportunity, and it was obviously true from the moment we stepped into the room. You don't even get one free bottle of water or cup of coffee. And everything has a price label on it. On the one hand, it's all above board, on the other hand, it looks incredibly tacky and cheap (plus the prices are stupid, 5 dollars for a bottle of water). Internet is two dollars an hour too! He who knows the price of everything...

And yet from our upgrade we got a comp breakfast on the 22nd floor lounge, which we were told would be self service. I expected a a couple of slices of toast and some measly muesli, but what we got was a fine spread of cold cuts, ham, cheese, fruit, fresh squeezed juices, many items on offer, well prepared and with attentive waiter service.

Oh, and car parking is 25 pesos a night, which is actually extremely reasonable!

So if I have to classify the hotel, it would be incredibly stingy, fairly priced, and really quite generous, depending on where you look.

Oh, and the room was fine, clean, well furnished, the hotel well appointed, and although it's for business it's not far to the attractions in the historic centre. Not a bad touristy option, especially at weekends when there appear to be some heavy discounts on the room rate.

By the way, for those dying of thirst after check-in, there is an Oxxo convenience store just across the road.

Room Tip: The higher you are, the quieter you will find it

The hotel is situated right in the center of the business disctrict. Value for money is ok. It is not to far from the historic Coyoacan district with very nice restaurants, bazar and coffee shops. The hotel is not really new and the rooms and facilities have seen better times before. The restaurant is serving a full breakfastt good quality. However, considered everything and if you catch a discount, the hotel can be recommended for business purposes. Be careful not to mistake it for one of the other Fiesta Americana hotels. Especially with the new one in Santa Fe, which looks much nicer but is far away (1hour).

Excellent location, staff is friendly and very helpful. Area is pretty safe; pricey for what it has to offer but location, location, location...

I really appreciated the warm service and friendliness of everyone at the hotel. Everyone spoke English quite well and I didn't feel out of place. To me, this treatment really captures what I see in all my Mexican friends - warmth, friendship and hospitality. I felt right at home.

We had three nights here on a room only basis. I can't therefore comment on the food. Our room and bathroom were of a very good standard with excellent views across the city. The standard of cleaning was very good. The location of the hotel was excellent and only about 20/25 minutes stroll to the historical centre/big square/cathedral etc. The open topped tourist bus, which took around 3 hours to complete its route, stopped outside the hotel.

We had quite a lot of queries for the staff and they were most helpful
