“Oasis in Mexico City”
Reviewed February 23, 2014

My husband and I just returned from a four day weekend trip to Mexico City for pleasure. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of hotels. Completely lived up to the Four Seasons reputation. Great location a block from Chapueltapec Park (Archaeologic Museum, Modern Art Museum, Natural History Museum, and the Presidential Palace). Beautiful public and private facilities. Gorgeous, fragrant flowers throughout the hotel.

To start our visit we were upgraded to suite which included a beautiful living room, bedroom, 1 1/2 bathrooms, and two closets.. The rooms were flawlessly appointed: luxury linens, plenty of plugs, good lighting, a soaking tub, a large separate shower, double sinks in full bath, L'Occitane toiletries, and plenty of free bottled water. There was even a Nespresso machine. I'm sure the two flat screen televisions were great, but we aren't big TV watchers. We couldn't resist trying out the TV in the bathroom mirror. Lovely view of the beautiful courtyard. And free wifi for two devices (one of my pet peeves is paying for Internet).

Everyone from the bellman to the front desk staff and concierge were friendly and helpful. The concierge arranged dinner reservations and our airport transportation. A great plus is the hotel has an arrangement with a car service (all bilingual and friendly) which puts your mind to rest about transportation safety. We ate the buffet breakfast everyday outside in the beautiful courtyard which was great (fruit, pastries, tamales, quesadillas, chilequilles) and so filling that we didn't usually eat again until dinner (not inexpensive at $30 but good quality). The waitstaff were professional, attentive, and friendly. Even the housekeeping staff impressed us one night when we rushed out to a late dinner at 9pm and returned to find all of the clothes we had dropped over the chair folded, the towels replaced, and the bed turned down.

There was construction going on in the next block, but we were sightseeing during most of the day and never really noticed it. Our windows (which you could actually open) facing the courtyard made for a quiet nights sleep. We were too busy to check out the pool and gym except for a quick peek; it looked more than adequate.

We enjoyed our time at the Four Seasons and wouldn't hesitate to return. I hadn't been in Mexico City for more than 25 years and was a little worried about safety issues, but if you use common sense and follow the hotel's recommendations you shouldn't have any problems.

Room Tip: Quiet courtyard view.

This is a very nice hotel located in the heart of commercial area within the city. The staff is pleasant but honestly did not really feel the warmth that you expect in properties of this category. Rooms are comfortable. Rommel service quite adequate. Not sure if I would stay in the hotel again though.

No Four Seasons ever disappoints, and the DF FSs is no exception. We had flawless service from the moment we were picked up at the airport, to the check-in process, to the concierge. The restaurant made our favorite dish from our last stay, even though it was no longer on the menu. The bar comp'ed my drink because I didn't like it. The concierge found the restaurant we ate at years ago based on vague descriptions.

The spa is not the strongest. I had a Hot Stone Therapy, which was really just a massage in presence of lukewarm stones. My husband had a deep tissue massage which was also a massage in presence of lukewarm stones! So the spa could take a page out of other Four Seasons' spas, say Four Seasons Punta Mita!

Room Tip: We had room 811 and it was amazing.

This was one of our most memorable trips. The Four Seasons Hotel is the best in Mexico City. The concierge planned our entire trip from side trips to the pyramids and day tours in Mexico City. They also made our dining arrangements.I recommend this hotel and staff with enthusiasm.

Room Tip: Choose the ones that look out towards the courtyard/garden

Stayed for 4 nights in a deluxe room and was hugely impressed. Very much up to the standard one has come to expect from one of the leading hotel brands in the world. From the moment I checked in the staff were friendly and courteous and the concierge was particularly helpful in ensuring that all arrangements were as I required during my stay. Rooms are large with all mod cons and bathrooms are equally spacious. The rooms face an attractive courtyard and are free from the outside noise as the hotel is located on one of the main arteries in this huge metropolis. Well located just a block from the castle end of Chapultepec Park, the hotel is ideal for visiting the park's numerous cultural attractions including the amazing Museum of Anthropology. Slightly surprisingly there are only two restaurants - the gourmet Reforma 500 and the more informal The Bar. All meals are excellent in quality and the service is impeccable. The business centre offers 30 minutes per day free use of the internet after which there is a charge, and there is also a nice swimming pool within the spa area.

I always look forward to staying at this hotel. It is a unique property unlike so many cookie cutter 5 star hotels around the world these days. The rooms are large and spacious and all look out over a large interior courtyard which is one of the high lights. The courtyard features a beautiful bar with tables inside and out, and the neighboring restaurant has the same open seating. The food is excellent - especially the breakfast! The bar serves one of the best margaritas I have had anywhere.

The gym is quite good - 4 out of 5 stars. The service is up to the high standards of the 4 Seasons.

We stayed in Mexico City for 3 days on our way to the Pacific coast vacation. We love the Four Seasons brand and what they stand for, they are the best. This hotel is one of the best in Mexico City and am sure that it's true but for us, it was missing something.
First of all, there was construction next door so when you were enjoying the pool, the noise was hard to deal with as much as it was a beautiful patio and nice service. The rooms were spacious but need a little updating. We had the courtyard view and it was nice to look at a beautiful garden with the fountains. I have to say that the gardens and the patio make this hotel very special. The bar and the restaurant have good service and do a very good job. We had a big mess with our reservation and we were a big group, the hotel was not on it as well as we expected. They made it up to us in the end. I would recommend this hotel as it is a good value for a Four seasons but would say to not expect it to be perfect.
