The first contact was not so nice. Lobby is cold, strong smell of Pledge and Windex, and the rooms, even if perfectly equipped, need a serious update: we're back in the early 80's! Carpets, furniture, curtains, artwork, all in beige, yellowish, brownish tones definitely do not match the 4 seasons image. You maybe also surprised by the somewhat recluse atmosphere: The hotel is built like a shoebox with no views outwards, most rooms overlooking a large patio. So no seduction at first sight, but soon you perceive the solid qualities of a 5-star: superlative service (fast, efficient, friendly, even stylish), vgood bar, vgood gym, vgood spa , small but pleasant pool and jacuzzi, vlarge and vquiet suites, manicured gardens, fresh bouquets everywhere, etc. The location is excellent, between Roma and Polanco, close to the main museums, and with some pleasant side streets offering good restaurants (eg calle Rio Lerma ). So not a hip hotel for the show off crowd. Rather for those who put quality first.

Great service, big rooms, nice bar. Slightly sterile. Well located. It is a safe and comfortable choice. The bar has some pizzazz. The restaurant should be one of the great restaurants in the city. Primary purpose is business not entertainment…

I had the opportunity to stay at the Four Seasons Mexico City last week, and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and did a wonderful job getting me checked in and welcoming me to the hotel. I reserved a Terrace Room with a patio overlooking the beautifully manicured courtyard and it did not disappoint. The room was extremely well appointed and clean. The hotel WiFi was very fast and reliable and made it easy to get some work done.

My favorite part of the room was the covered patio overlooking the couryard. It was approximately 15' x 15' with a table and chairs and was a perfect place to sit and relax and get some work done. When you are on the patio, or in the courtyard in general, you would have absolutely no idea that you were in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world. It is calm and quiet, and honestly one of the most peaceful places I've ever been.

El Bar is a great place to relax and sip tequila from their extensive collection and the staff is very friendly and attentive. We ate dinner at Reforma 500 in the courtyard. The meal was fantastic and the service was exemplary.

I can't wait to return to the hotel and I would recommend that anyone visiting Mexico City consider staying at this hotel. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: I would recommend getting a room overlooking the courtyard. These rooms are all very quiet and you...

Will keep this brief: a great five-star hotel without shortcoming. Suite overlooking the courtyard was fabulous, immaculate, Frette-sheeted; the health club, while compact, had all you need for an in-city visit; the bar and restaurant were, as someone said earlier, an oasis in the busy city. What really makes this hotel, though, is the level of service, which was simply flawless, unfailingly polite and helpful, supremely friendly. Everybody -- and I mean everybody -- greeted us with a smile, an offer of help, a tip about a service or place to go, a "welcome back" by name at the end of the day. The concierge was phenomenal; the staff at the health club always there with a towel, a cold drink; the room service prompt and efficient; the hotel driver-guides wonderfully knowledgeable and amiable. I mean, this is a place where they send your wet swimsuits to be dried and delivered back to your room within the hour. Where they tell you, to the minute, when to expect your breakfast to arrive. Where jugo de melon is brought to you poolside along with cold towels. Where you have merely to ask for reservations to the best restaurants in the City, and where photos of their interiors, along with suggested dress, are offered as a matter of course. Would this sort of place lose its appeal if you could afford to stay there all the time? I doubt it, but would love to stay for a month or so and try to find out. A great hotel in a great city.

Room Tip: Ask about upgrades to a suite, and/or for a room overlooking the courtyard.

Every Four Seasons property captures some of the unique flavor of the city or country in which it resides. The Four Seasons Mexico City does an exceptional job of this, reflecting the graciousness and languid living of Mexico in a hacienda-like setting. I last stayed at this hotel 17 years ago and since then I have visited several other Four Seasons around the globe; this one remains my favorite. It's the courtyard, I think; it's the touchstone of this property. It's a pleasure to merely gaze down upon the courtyard from your room or to meander through it during the day or evening. And it is wonderful to know that you will return to it after a busy day of museum-visiting or business meetings.

It's the Four Seasons so the service is, ofcourse, impeccable and all guests are treated like visiting royalty (or like the rock stars who were staying at the hotel while we were there). In a country where visitors are admonished to "never drink the water" I appreciated that we never lacked for bottled water in our suite and that I was immediately handed a cold bottle upon returning from my morning run. Its location near Bosque de Chapultepec is a major plus as you can walk to the amazing Museo Nacional de Antropologia and Chapultepec Castle, but the trade-off is needing to take a taxi or public transport to visit sites in the historic center.

Our stay was not perfect: we returned to our suite late one afternoon to find that the housekeeping staff had curiously commenced then abandoned their clean-up of our rooms. There was a quick response to our call to rectify this situation, as well as profuse apologies. The immediate acknowledgment that this simply should not have happened speaks volumes about the standards and quality of this hotel.

Room Tip: As this is primarily a business hotel, weekend rates are significantly lower. ALWAYS request a ro...

Arrived early morning and thanks to brilliant Tatiana at the Front Desk, was given early check in. Stayed for 2 nights at this great Hotel. Room was spacious with full view of the lovely courtyard.

Food was good and so was the service. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The only drawback in otherwise excellent property is the walk from Elevator to the Rooms....a never ending one.

Location is perfect and would most definitely be staying again.

Outside the hotel is unassuming even non descript in a busy part of the city downtown. Inside it's an oasis of calm built around a huge courtyard garden with areas to dine and it amongst lush vegetation. The bustle and noise of the city disappear when you enter the lobby as does the closed in feeling of the city streets.
The rooms are large, beds very comfortable and decent sized bathrooms with the hallmark Four Seasons hip bath which though deep is too small for me and is my only real niggle with Four Seasons.
The spa was one of the best hotel massages I've ever had (thank you Vicki) and be aware the hotel offers special discounts in the spa weekdays around lunch time which make the prices really competitive with cheaper external spas.
The bar has a good range of filling bar snacks and over 120 tequilas which they happily offer on a tasting menu to experience the different types.
