It is the center of a very diverse and vibrant capitol city, buzzing with low key street-side shopping, elegant to casual eateries, beautiful old sculptures and lots of people. Visiting Mexico city has it's must go destination as Zocalo.

I have a leisure walk from Palacio de Bella Artes to here, passing through several government and commercial colonial style building before reach here. It is a big city square where many leisure and family activity done. In the middle of the square stood the famous tall Mexican flag mast, with some wording in Spanish on its base.

This is the historic central area of Mexico City. Make sure you come to wander and visit the main attractions in the area. Walk first to the main plaza then to the ruins beside the cathedral. This will give you a picture of what is both around you and beneath you. It is an interesting and vibrant part of the city.

This square is the centre of old town MC. To me a square like many others, however on dia the los muertos it transforms into something spectacular.

My family and I took a trip with some friends of ours to this square and this year the government of Mexico decided to put a skating rink I the middle of the square. My kids got to see an Aztec dance next to Templo Mayor which was close on the day we were there. We had some Al Pastor tacos which were okay next to Palacio Nacional, we’re my kids got to see the MPs keeping watch.
