“The most trendy and neat hotel!”
Reviewed September 30, 2010

Wonderful and innovating hotel I've ever been. The front desk staff is very kind and professional. The lobby is spectacular and it has a lovely terrace. The rooms are not only fashionable but very well decorated; also the view from my room was stunning!

I found out about Distrito Capital because it was recommended by Conde Nast Traveler, so I knew it had to be pretty high standard. And when we arrived, it didn't just meet our expectation, we were blown away. Everything about this hotel was stunning and super hip-- from the entrance to the lobby, but the most impressive part, which they got so right, was the room. The room layout was quite unique, if you're looking for something different and unconventional then you have come to right place. While the dark colour decor might not appeal to everyone, if you are looking for cool rather than traditionally beautiful, you would appreciate the aesthetics here.

The room size was not huge but it was so well designed with a lot of efficiency that you didn't need a lot of space to feel comfortable. Our room had a very high ceiling and the bed faces out to a tall glass wall overlooking Santa Fe from the 27th floor, which was fantastic at night. The roller-blind is operated with buttons next to the bed, while the desk behind the bed was equipped with an iPod dock connecting it to speakers all around the room. The black stone tile bathroom was stunning and is stocked with only Acqua di Parma products. Absolutely everything used in the room was of the highest quality, down to the fluffy oversized towels, soft bed sheets or even the stationary. In-room wifi is free with a good steady connection, which was a big plus.

We were never up early enough to try the breakfast but lunch at the restaurant on the same floor as the lobby and the bar was superb. The menu was not that extensive but it was well thought out and unpretentious, and everything we ordered was delicious. The staff were all really helpful and went beyond their duty to make sure that everything was safe and smooth for us, especially the main concierge who I could not have thanked enough for it.

If there was a minus about Distrito Capital for us then it would be that it's in Santa Fe. Of course this could be a plus for others, but we were mainly spending our time in Condesa and Zona Rosa. Still, we could not have been happier with our stay at this hotel and a slightly longer taxi ride, no matter how late at night to get back here, was completely worth it.

I stayed here for a weekend suffice to say that in the hall some one threw up - literally and it was not cleaned for quite a while. I had to call and let them know and even afterward the stuff stayed there

They allowed a party on my floor and had to call 5 times before anyone would try to solve the issue. Waited for an hour for an answer and I had to ask for a change of room to which I was told to perhaps wait until the party was over.

The elevators were filthy, like a garbage can and no one cleaned it up either. Even a best western is better than this.

I asked fo a refund and was told they could give me 15 dollars. To which i said it was a joke and had to ask not to pay for the night gven that no one want to open their hotel door and find it smelly, filthy. In the end they offered not to charge for the upgrade which i think is to little for the whole inconvenience. They should not have charged for the room for that night period. They did not offer a clean, safe environment

The worst hotel ever.

In the trendy Santa Fe district of Mexico City (one of the very few places in Mexico City where you can feel safe 24/7) and occupying the top four floors of one of the tallest buildings of the city, you will find Distrito Capital, a boutique hotel that targets the sophisticated business traveler. While this is not the right hotel to bring children, it is just perfect if you are in town for business or for pleasure with your couple. The design of the hotel is simply beautiful, with luxurious details surprising you at every moment. While I was very happy with the hotel's rooms and friendly service, the food at the restaurant leaves something to be desired. Portions are small and not spectacular... you are much better off dining at one of the 5 restaurants in the first floor of the building. Amongst those El Japones and Le Bouchon (Japanese and French respectively) will certainly satisfy your taste buds even if you are a demanding conossieur. In short, Distrito Capital is highly recommended, probably one of the best hotels in Mexico City. Its part of the Habita chain )Habita Mexico City and Monterrey, Azucar in Veracruz, Deseo and basico in Cancun). Dont miss it if you have a chance.

This brand new ultra-trendy hotel is breathtaking from start to finish with DESIGN being the keyword and has taken over the top floors of a tall building so all the rooms have a spectacular view over Mexico City. It is virtually next door to the Santa Fe shopping mall, 20 minutes from Polanco and most of the museums, and about 20 minutes from the city of Toluca. I have no words to describe either the room (very comfortable bed and pillows) or the view from it as both were somewhere far beyond spectacular and the bathroom breathtaking although a bit dark and we found escaping water from curtainless shower a bit annoying. The closet was designed by a man and there was nowhere long enough to hang a dress unless a micro-mini ! There is an expresso machine in the corridor which after initial excitement we could never use as there were never any capsules by it.
Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious and we saw that at night both the bar and restaurant were hopping although we did not manage to try either.
This is an almost painfully trendy hotel and for either the young (and rich) or for the young at heart or for anyone who loves modern architecture and design. If you describe yourself as a fuddy-duddy do not go here !
