This is a difficult review for me to write, because this hostel does so much well but fails in some key areas, depending on what your objective is in Mexico City.

Let’s start with the bad:

WIFI. it’s ok outside the rooms. But inside the rooms it’s terrible, possibly the worst I’ve ever seen in Mexico, despite the place being almost empty. I traveled to Mexico City for work so internet was very important to me.
Message to the owners: invest in a few extra routers, faster internet connections and ask a IT specialist to make sure none of your WiFi networks are on the same radio frequency. Takes 5 minutes and BOOM, internet problems solved forever. There is also no space in the corridor where there is good WIFI so you must stand to use it and not block the corridor (this is why I gave such high importance to in-room WiFi)

COMMON AREAS: this hostel is very new and currently located inside a food hall. Their only common area is located at the bar of the food hall and it is not very comfortable, inviting or cozy. The staff informed me that they’re building a common area on the roof, which when finished, I trust to be wonderful. At the moment however it is not started.

TOILETS: as mentioned above, this hostel is located in a food hall/market. The only toilets are shared with this food hall. In addition to this you have to walk through the common area to get to the toilets, which can be a bit awkward if they’re having a party. Not only this, but there are only two toilets for the men and 3 urinals, which may get crowded at times if the food hall is busy.

To the good parts:

STAFF: they’re excellent and always super eager to help you at the best of their abilities. They give good suggestions when you ask for them and go above and beyond for even the smallest issues.
I would say they are the exemplary staff for any hostel. Couldn’t ask for more from them!

HOSTEL DESIGN: perfectly designed and finished. All the colors match and where they could have slacked, they did not. It is brand new and you can tell.

BEDS: slightly cramped, but comfortable and they are PODS BUILT FROM WOOD!! I love this as it’s completely stable and you will not be awakened by a person moving above or beneath you. Each bed has its own locker, light and two power outlets. The only thing they could do better is to put curtains and universal power sockets.

SHOWERS: they are spacious enough, have a high up rack for keeping your stuff dry and have free shampoo and soap. They also give you a new towel to use every day. There are 6 showers for the total 90 beds.

———-
They do accept credit cards which was a great plus for me.

Take this review with a grain of salt because hopefully the owners will read this and make the appropriate modifications.

To summarize everything: if WiFi in the rooms is irrelevant to you, you don’t mind standing for a little bit while you search something online and don’t really spend any time inside hostels and mostly explore the city then this hostel I very good, 4/5. The beds are nice and it is a safe hostel.
If on the other hand you’re a business traveler, want to meet other travelers easily and want a nice hang out spot in your hostel, then I’d say at the moment it is not a good hostel for you.

I will personally not stay here again unless I can verify the WiFi situation is solved.

As the title says, this hostel has great potential, but is just not there yet. I look forward to seeing what they do with the common area when they build it.

At the moment I left the review, they had been open for only 3 months.

Late in responding to your comments. As the owner, I thank you for the time and detail you took to let us know your opinions. I inform you that the theme of the WIFI we solved with three modems as well as a bandwidth of 50 Mbps, giving service to the rooms and terrace. The theme of the showers also improved and you can bet they are the best of any hostel, pressure and hot water to the maximum. The terrace has not yet been fully enabled, we have an outdoor room as well as acapulco style chairs and a rotisserie and heater, light, wifi and even a bluetooth speaker so you can listen to the music of your liking. We are still about to build a living area for the guests.

The theme of the wc inside the hostel is rather an impediment of hydrosanitary infrastructure, we were not able to do it.

The curtains will be put shortly as well as the improvement of the terrace.

We offer in agreement with Afiori a very healthy breakfast and based on flowers which makes it delicious.

In general, those have been the improvements.

Best regards and we hope you come back soon.
