I usually stay at the W in polanco but stayed at the st regis as i was attending a conference there. Very nice luxury hotel. Rooms are top notch and classic. Butler service is nice, although I never had a need to use it. Generally however, service at the restaurants is great.
Some constructive comments... The person that checked me in put me in a room that overlooked a construction site. As an SPG gold, I typically get treated very nicely and have come to expect the upgrades but I did not get one. For 2 nights a glaring siren went off at 5:30am. From the 10th floor it was as loud as an alarm clock and I couldn't go back to sleep. I called the front desk the first time to voice my concern but got nothing but a "we will look into it but I cant hear anything". I didn't bother calling the second night as I had little hope they could do anything. Both times it meant an early trip to the gym but it was incredibly annoying.
Also, being on Reforma the traffic is incredibly bad. Either construction or protests can delay you for 10 minutes to hours.
Overall, the hotel is nice but the construction nearby, the heavy traffic and the lack of a proactive service means Im going right back to the W.More
