“simply outstanding”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

This hotel is a great example of a five star hotel. Service, rooms and location could not be better. I travel to the hotel once in awhile and whenever I return the staff immediately recognizes me and greets me by name. Front desk, Room Service, Butler and restaurant services are outstanding. The rooms could not be more comfortable. Only one recommendation, re-design the bathrooms and add a door. I personally think bathrooms should always have a door for more privacy.

Location is perfect in this hectic city.

As a SPG member I was really looking forward to my 7 night stay at the St Regis in Mexico City, overall I would say that I enjoyed my stay but I found there to be too many issues to justify the price tag this hotel offers its guests.

Pros:

Check in was a joy and the staff offered both of us a glass of Veuve which was well overdue considering we spent over 2 hours waiting in customs.

The rooms are fantastic and the bed was very comfortable, shower and bathroom were great, cleaners did a very good job.

The downstairs bar on level 3 has an outside area where you can buy and smoke cigars and the service was outstanding with a very good selection of wine and food.

Day spa world class but pricey. Enjoyed the glass of champagne at the end of the massage.

Cons:

Internet is not complimentary which really annoyed me, after paying such a high price to stay here I don't understand why they charge 210 pesos per day. The Internet also did not work in the gym on level 15 and I think they have cut corners and probably need to add more access points for wireless connectivity. My advice is get a telcel card for 300 pesos.

The smallest infinity pool in the world but luckily nobody used it. In high season it would be an issue. I also noticed that the pool area wasn't cleaned that often and there were always dirty towels lying around and the Spa looked dirty. The sauna and steam rooms were always switched off and took 30 minutes to warm up which was annoying. Such great facilities that are clearly not being maintained by the staff.

The butler service was hit and miss. Some days we received world class service and than other times the service was very poor. Example on the last day we ordered coffee and it was cold, called and complained and the coffee was replaced with cold coffee, not impressed.

Dear Guest,

We are very honored receiving SPG memebers, specially during long stays, what allows us to get to know more each guest and obtain substantial feedback from them.

We appreciate your comments about Remède Spa and the Fitness Center facilities. Cleanness is a touchstone at St. Regis, I assure you that the pool is cleaned daily and bacteriological analysis are performed weekly to guarantee hygiene, nevertheless our staff must maintain it neat and provide a bespoke service to each request, please accept our sincere apologies. I invite you to share more about your experience to my direct email carlos.fajer@stregis.com, will be my pleasure to be in touch with you.

Please allow us to welcome you back soon with a promise of world class service during each interaction,

Best Regards,

The service is impeccable at this hotel. obviously the staff are encouraged to smile and greet every guest, offer immediate help and practice English. all of this without bothering or disturbing. the rooms are big and spacious and packed with electronics. the bathroom is an experience in itself including a TV embedded in the mirror.
The hotel is expensive and worth the price.

The St. Regis in Mexico was a fantastic place to stay while at Zona Maco art fair. The hotel centrally located in an area where you are able to walk to malls, restaurants and an easy drive to
the old central. The staff was friendly and great butler service. Security is not an issue at the St. Regis fantastic elevator with top security system. Room were very comfortable and quiet, we were in room 1008 and never heard any noise.

I would certainly stay at the St. Regis again!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1008 no noise, comfortable and clean

We stayed for 7 days at the St Regis and it was one of the worst experience. I have stayed in the St Regis Rome before and it was great. I was expecting the same, but it was really dissapointing.
The ballet parking made me wait for 15 min before recieving us to do the check in, everytime we wanted to have the car they asked us, are you a guest of the hotel? i respond what if Im not... so they sent me downstair to get my car.
You have to go to the second or thirth floor to the reception, were agan they made us wait. Hotel Staff just had a bad attitude.
The consierge had no idea how to get tickets to a football game, he sent us to a dangerous place were turist shouldnt be sent.
The food is terrible, service at the restaurant is bad as well.
The only good thing was the room, beautiful but really noisy. Get a top floor if you are planning to saty here.

Dear Guest,
We would like you to know that since our last contact with you, we are reviewing the mentioned incidents in order to always offer bespoke experiences. Nevertheless, we would like to again apologize for your disappointment during your last stay. Our Concierge is dedicated to complying with our guests wishes, however with some last minute requests we did what was possible to obtain these tickets, even offering to collect them ourselves, we sincerely apologize you found the supermarket where the tickets were located dangerous. At The St. Regis Mexico City we highly regard our guests security and comfort, from having various elevator filters and delivering services which exceed expectations.
We hope you may give us a chance to receive you again in the near future. All of our associates are willing to provide a bespoke assistance for your stay, anticipating every wish and request with discreet precision.
Best Regards

I don't normally write these reviews. Usually stay in Four Seasons/Park Hyatt city hotels. This is without doubt one of the finest city hotels in the world. Room quality and bed superb, bathroom and shower especially impressive. Lifts with no buttons inside! Tablet menus for dinner. Food good but fantastic breakfast and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Spa was pretty good as well. Its rare you walk away with a faultless experience and think that the thing you look most forward to returning to in a city is the hotel!

My esposo arranged our stay at the St Regis for 7 days of our 40 day honeymoon. Tired of standing in a customs queue for 2 plus hours we arrived at the hotel tired & frustrated. After a glass of champange & seeing our room beautifully decorated with roses & rose petals...well, my fatigue just melted away.
The St Regis is a haven amongst the chaos of Mexico city, which I happen to love.
My only complaint would be the inconcistency of service of the room ( at times impeccable & other times failire to replenish lotions etc ) & the inconsitency of butler service. At times the butler was prompt & ever so helpful, at other times lacking in personality & delivery cold coffee!
The hineymoon spa package was fantastic!
The sommlier at the Bar was endearing & knowledgeable - thank you!
All in all, I look forward to my next stay at the St Regis.
