It is difficult to add more positives to the previous comments for this hotel. It is a recent hotel (4 years and most of the current crew including the GM started the hotel) with all the expected sophistication in comfort and security.

Everyone from bellmen to GM is helpful and smiling. The concierge arranged for transportation to/from airport and driver/guide for the visits around the city (ask for Mr. Juan Martinez, he is a very knwoledgeable ex-professor of history and a great driver).

Restaurants are of great class but dare to leave the comfort of this fabulous hotel to taste the food in the rest of the city. Great experiences (see my upcoming comments on specific restaurants)!!

If you have to come back regularly here for business, you are entitled to my understanding that you have a very "tough" job!!

Room Tip: Views toward the Paseo de la Reforma enjoy a nice sunrise!

Good service, but the hotel is located in front of the Avenida Reforma which happens to be very noisy. I had a room facing the street and there was a lot of noise in the evening and early morning coming out of the street. It is a shame that this luxury hotel does not have noise reduction glass systems. Other hotels from the same chain like the Sheraton in the Charles de Gaulle Airport are very quiet.
Also, the Exercise room has very little equipment. It is not at the level of other hotels like the W hotel in Austin or other cities. Really dissapointing.

Room Tip: Stay away from a room facing the street. Check if there is a parade or something happening that day...

Dear Guest:

Thank you for taking some time to review the hotel and for the lovely pictures you took.
We are sorry you experienced noise during your stay. Even though our building has noise reduction glass, because of our location on a busy avenue the noise created is sometimes out of our hands. In regard to the fitness center facilities, we apologize that you did not find enough equipment for your use, we will be taking your comments into consideration so we can deliver exceptional services in every stay.
However we are glad you are a Starwood customer and enjoy staying at our properties worldwide.

We visit Mexico very often and usually have to stay over night in Mexico city. We used to stY IN The Sheraton and were generally happy, even thought the hotel is old the only give away is that they used to smoke in all the rooms many moons ago and that doesnt go away so fast.. So we decided to go to the St Regis and that has become the place for us. Champagne on arrival comfy rooms clean no smell of smoke. The last time we had snaks in the bar and they had live jazz music. They have their own staff to drive you to different destinations for a reasonable rate. The driver is armed and was very alert when I went to get some pesos from the atm. Will continue to stay there every time when overnighting in Mexico city

Room Tip: high floor equal good views in December if the air is clear which it usually is not ask to face the...

I visited the St Regis last year for a business trip and was amazed from the time I entered. The hotel is stunningly beautiful, modern, so clean and bright. From the moment that you check in - it's as if (and I'm not exaggerating) each of the staff there knows your name. The service is unparalleled - you will not want for anything and the staff is professional, courteous and amazing at what they do. Everyone that I encountered spoke perfect English - even when my side of the conversation was in (bad, but sufficient) Spanish.

The rooms - these are all "Mission Impossible" style rooms. They are very large, high ceilings, beautiful decor, ample closet space, plush bedding, blankets, throws, towels, robes, slippers - you name it. But the Mission Impossible comes in where you have screens in two locations - upon entry and at your bedside - where you control EVERYTHING. I've seen these i previous reviews and just want to say it's amazing how much one can control from their bedside with thise screen. From making phone calls, to ordering room service, to closing the blinds or adjusting the television volume - it's all meant to make you feel fully in control of the many many services and plush amenities at your disposal.

The bathroom is enviable - all travertine-style massive showers with enough space for 6 people to shower or bath at the same time. Separate twin sinks and a separate still toilet. The only "complaint" one could purport would be that there are too many choices for lighting. Not sure which actual lamp you want on? That's ok - you can pick if you'd like "daytime," "working," "Relaxing," etc - and the magic screen will decide for you.

Because I was there for business I had use of the porter, concierge, business services and restaurants. The meeting rooms of all sizes were well-appointed, ample in size and incredibly well staffed. We had someone at our disposal at all times and the porters we actually had to ask to service us less because they were tending to the guests too much that they were distracted from the business at hand! We should have such problems at other locations. The meals served were fresh, hot when appropriate and delicious. There were sufficient choices for a variety of population - including international, vegetarian and generally fussy eaters. This was also true at the restaurant - service and food alike were amazing. The hotel was accommodating at every turn, whether we needed to hire a car for a tour or a guest needed to print out a boarding pass. There were small areas where you could meet a colleague or rest for a moment and all areas of the hotel were comfortable, immaculately clean and stylish with fresh flowers and very modernly decorated.

It is located on a very busy rotary/round-about/square of sorts where there was a protest while we were there, but the safety of the hotel was never in question. You did not need to turn a corner without a staff person being there to assist with your every request. It comes with a price, however, especially for the area. You can stay for 1/10th - but why would you when you can have this kind of luxury!

Room Tip: A higher floor will give you great views of the city!

The hotel is on the lower floors of a high rise building in the Financial District (Zona Rosa). It looks over the fountain of Diana just down from the golden angel. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by name by the doormen and staff. We were taken with our luggage to the 3rd floor where the lobby is. Immediately you notice that the elevators have no buttons inside. You select a floor when you call the elevator and are told which one to take. This is more efficient having been introduced at the Hilton in Manhattan several years ago, but it is unnerving.

The check-in was great. They give you glass of Verve Cliquet while sorting you out–so that’s nice. The hotel is all done in muted earth tones and the paintings are trying to look like they are by Goya. Into another bank of pre-select elevators and to the room.

The rooms are muted and monochromatic. The closets are a mess. They are along the wall to the side of the bed between the bathroom and the bedroom. The wall is divided into three panels. Two open and one is fixed with the tub on the other side. The two that open by sliding back and forth so you only have access to one closet cubby or the other at one time. One internal drawers so if you open one it blocks the doors. One side has a few feet to hang cloths the other has a bar coming from the wall with hangers on it so you can see the pretty robes. It was designed by a bachelor because a married couple will come to blows packing, unpacking or dressing.

Our butler showed us the room and told us she would make and bring coffee or coffee drinks any time. Sounds great.

The bathroom is great and one of the best showers I have ever used. At first the service was great. In the King Cole bar they have a trolley for the ports and another for the brandies. Why would you go outside? The continental breakfast has great bread and fruit and seemed untouched on the weekends when we arrived at 8:00 an hour after it had been setup.

You cant drink the water from the tap so you have to buy flats of it from a local store or pay a fortune for it from the hotel. Since this is a business district the stores nearby keep bankers hours so be aware.

The bed was comfortable and the view from the room was great. The wheels started to come off the wagon from there. We got travelers tummy and when we called the butler for more toilet paper (and it was not the nice kind) she told us there was a charge because we used the ones they gave us. The manager apologized later, but how do you undo that lack of courtesy. Once your room butler is that rude to you to whom do you turn for service.

A hotel taxi driver (they have their own fleet) took us on a 15 minute trip to a local restaurant, trued to steer us to another restaurant, forgot where we were going and then told us that we were underdressed (I don’t have to fly 3 hours to be insulted, I can get that locally or for a lot less money). He charged 250 pesos for the drive there and the drive back was 5 minutes and 30 pesos. However, when you pull up to the door of this luxury hotel in a local taxi the three doormen standing around pretend they don’t see you (you have to open the door, carry your own bags out, shlep the water you had to buy).

You pay extra for customer service here and it goes to extremes. Either excellent or insulting, like kissing you and then slapping you. I would prefer a lower lever of consistent service.

Room Tip: Ask for one on an upper floor overlooking the fountain.

This might be my favorite hotel anywhere in the world! Strongly recommend a stay here!

I was stunned by how incredible the service of the St Regis staff is. I don't think I have ever met a more friendly and more polite group of people. They really make you feel that you are important, that they are here to help you, and that they will make your stay even better.

Some of the highlights of my stays have been having drinks and cigars on the outdoor terrace. You great a nice view of Reforma and the layout of the terrace is nice. They use iPads as menus, which is rather fun, and it even has the inventory of all the cigar options you can buy.

The rooms are very impressive and luxurious. One nice touch was the TV screen inside the mirror in the bathroom. How fun.

Concierge was quite helpful to arrange travel and leisure activities through the city. In particular they helped me get to and from Azteca Stadium which was invaluable.

I would recommend staying here for any reason!
