“One nor the other”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

Was here in Nov 2011 and really liked it.
Nice helpful staff, clean and a good atmosphere.
After arriving on a saturday afternoon, i went to the bar, got to know a few people and the bartender took us to a kewl bar in La Condesa (Historic Centre is great for site-seeing, but no good for going out) and i had a great night.
Went back this year. All the same, but one crucial difference. The bar is gone.
Apparently people complained that it was noisy. And they are right, it was a noisy-ish hostel.
Still, by taking the bar out, they have killed the atmosphere and it's still a noisy place.
Not going back as i'll be better of going to a hotel in La Roma or La Condesa. Areas much nicer than the historic centre and Amigos is no longer tempting me.
As mentioned, now it's not a party hostel any more and it's still not a quite hostel.
One nor the other.

Room Tip: Highest floor is likely the be the quietest

very good location
the breakfasts are very complete and selora the kitchen is very friendly besides cooking delicious
The staff is always very friendly and will help you feel at home.
tours are very complete for all days of the week and Alex is the best to teach mexico and surroundings, is very cheerful man and knows a lot about Mexico.
the guys at the reception jorge, and manager Rafael otho support you in whatever you need and make you feel at home
the rooms are very spacious and the finishes are very pretty and colorful.
if private reservenlas can seem as 5 star (highly recommended room 103)
is no longer the bartender (jerry) than to the crazy nights with theme parties, but there is free tequilas with Draff promotions.
not that great
if you can take the tour of pyramids, wrestling, and cantinas can make a bundle of three at a good price and also save money.
Regina street there are many things to do and for everyone: bars, clubs, restaurants, bars, cafes, pulque, etc

Room Tip: pick the second level to dont have noise!!!

Aida has been very friendly, helpful and showed a lot of patience when it comes to explaining.
Her knowledge about the city has also helped us avoid a lot of unwanted surprises.
The food near the hostel has also been very satisfying!

P/S: The free tequila shots has totally liven up the friendliness vibe of this city!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road is unsurprisingly noisy

Hi I stayed at your hostel a couple of days ago and I receive a card from Aida asking us to rate her based on her reception job.We have all agreed to rate her but we don't know where exactly to rate and we hope we can do it here. We are the travelers from London, England and we all would like to give a perfect 10 out of 10 to her!She has been very friendly, helpful and showed a lot of patience when it comes to explaining. Her knowledge about the city has also helped us avoid a lot of unwanted surprises.
Thanks very much!

When you first arrive to this place the vibe that you feel is amazing, the guests that were there we're all friendly and all the same same area, we made a lot of friends but the rooms are not so great, as a couple we prefer to sleep in a private room, the dorms are nice but for younger people.

Room Tip: We didnt saw the private rooms here, the dorms are big but nice
