“Well worth a visit”

So many different objects here. Break from " more of the same " in other museums. Much could be classified as upmarket craft work

“highlight of Mexico City”
Reviewed July 16, 2014

Don't miss it. Excellent collection. It's all the stuff that you see in every touristy gift shop everywhere in Mexico, but the good stuff done at a truly fine art level. Beautiful. Even breath-taking.

“favorite museum in mexico!!”
Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

wow this museum is by far the best art museum ive ever visited, in all of my travels. it covers so many popular arts and beauitful pieces. take your time to read all the descriptions so you really understand mexico and the culture. so many people see the typical skeletons or devils and dont really know their meaning or history, all the descriptions are in english for that very reason. it was very cold inside so bring a coat! also for students its free or a discount (cant remember) so bring your ID. DO NOT MISS THIS

“Great display of modern and traditional art”
Reviewed July 6, 2014 via mobile

Don't be fooled by the plain looking lobby of this museum, it has an incredible collection of modern and traditional Mexican art and does a great job explaining how it reflects Mexican culture and values. The display they had of calaveras depicting important scenes in Mexican history was my favorite.
