“Friendly staff and great location”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

The hotel is really comfortable, and located two blocks away from the city centre. The facade is gorgeours. The area is safe to walk, even at night and there are two restaurants right past the lobby, so even if you arrive late, as we did, there is an option to eat.

The room has free wi-fi and there is a business centre (6th floor) and a fitness area. Both are complimentary. The breakfast is adequate, with Mexican dishes and an assortment of bread, yoghurt, fruit and cereals. It could ve a bit more varied perhaps, but it is definitely ok.

The staff is really friendly and accomodating. Coming back late at night (when the front door is closed) is also no problem.

I found that the location was great and the area of town is safe. The hotel has a free self serve laundry on the top floor. You can purchase soap at the front dest for 20 pesos which will do 2 full loads. There is also a nice roof top terrace on top of the hotel.
The room was small but fine for one person.... not partiularly quiet but OK. AC worked well.
Skip Fisher's Seafood restaurant downstairs. It's expensive and the food is .. ... not good. Much better options close by. Try the El Popular which is near the Zocalo.

This is the most interestingly beautiful motel I've ever stayed in. It's a historic building with a glass roof. The only weakness is that the room needed an update. It was clean and large, except the separate seating area wasn't very inviting to use. Breakfast was good and the location cannot be beat. The staff was friendly. All in all, a good experience.

This is the perfect choice, in the perfect location, for your trip to Mexico City (one of the world's greatest cities---a must at the right time of year).

Has the pluses of the corporate-standardization of this chain (the breakfast, which adds Mexican specialities, thankfully; pleasant and excellent-English-skills concierge and front desk personnel) but is located in a renovated historic structure with a fine rooftop patio area, and international guests. Ask for an inside room on the 5th and 6th floors (and despite where the front desk might initially steer you) for the most quiet; 5th floor gives you easy access to the rooftop patio, a nice option (Room 509 highly recommended). We slept like babies.

We were so glad to have stayed in Centro Historico! Based on a friend's advice, we had been booked into the Polanco area, at the W Hotel. When we saw it, we thought how lucky we were to have happened on this hotel and area. In Polanco, however nice and upscale, you really could be anywhere. Centro is WAY more interesting---there's a reason for it's name---full of interesting historic structures, easy access to everything you want to get to, including all subway lines (the fastest and most efficient I've experienced anywhere....and yes, we took it at night too, safely and without ever a threat, at least to Zona Rosa and other major spots). Centro is heavily policed, so never once was safety an issue. We wandered quite a bit, and took public transportation everywhere (including the pyramids, and the canals area) and if you're a savvy traveler, safety was literally never an issue, despite what you've heard.

Across from the hotel is a huge pastry place (with great flan); katy-corner on the top floor is a late-night bar/billiards/EDM place (there are several of these in the immediate vicinity). A few blocks down the street to the left is Calle Regina, an uncrowded pedestrian-mall kind of thing with an alt-vibe, a good place to sample Mezcal in the small cafes or just drink beer/eat fish and chips (eg. Cafe Pacifica, with friendly management and bartender, and some good dance music). If it's late-late nightlife you're looking for, overall Mexico City isn't your place, at least in the tourist accessible areas, but it could have been when we were visiting (the week before Easter, which offers all the religious pageantry and drama you'd expect from this country.)

Room Tip: 5th and 6th floors, inside rooms, 509 highly recommended.

This hotel gave excellent value for money. Great location, security, very comfortable beds, great breakfast, helpful staff etc. We had a queen suite, which we would highly recommend as it does not cost very much more than the king room. We also requested to be on the back side of the hotel and it was extremely quiet even though we were right in the center of downtown Mexico.

A really comfortable hotel - and in an excellent location (Centro Historico) from which to explore this fantastic city. The room was spotless, wifi worked well, breakfast was ample with lots of options, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The security guys at the door were lovely. No mini bar or room service (after a long flight this would have been nice) but lots of good food options nearby and there is a small shop for snacks by reception. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floors may be a little quieter - but the first floor was really fine.

We started our roundtrip through Mexico with 3 nights in this hotel. After a very long flight from Europe to America it was very good to find such a nice hotel. It is located in the historic Zocalo of the city. The room was big, modern and clean. There is free WiFi. The breakfast is really okay and mexican style. There is security all over the place so you do feel always safe.
From the Zocalo Plaza about 2 minutes from the hotel you can take the Touribus that takes you to almost every point of interest in the city for only a few pesos.
All in all a very nice stay.
