“Perfect base to visit Mexico”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

This hotel is really near of the perfection to visit Mexico City. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The entrance of the hotel is secure, don't worry if you have a late arrival. Same thing with the sector, we always feel secure even in evening. It's a 10 minutes walk from the Zocalo and from metro.
It have a lot of convenience near this hotel, drugstore, store, bakery etc.
The rooms are a little bit small and doesn't have any windows on the outside. But they are clean and confortable.
The breackfast is include and really well. It had a waffle machine (hummm). But not many service.

This hotel is one of my favorite hotel. They have good service, it is very good located (very near the Zocolo and you really feel that you get very good value for your money. The rooms are nice and things works always perfect. The bathroom is quite nice and everything is quite clean. Yhe breakfast is absolutely fantastic and plenty. Together with the very serviceminded staff (English speaking) and the splendid location the price for the hotel is a bargain in Mexico City.

Very pleased with the breakfast and the comfortable king bed but don't bother paying extra for a view. Ours was of the water tank! Overall good value and pleasant English- speaking staff. Even though I was robbed in Constitution Square. Don't wear your jewelry .

I booked a 4-night stay at the Mexico City Centro Histórico Hampton Inn & Suites in large measure because of its high ranking in TripAdvisor--and its comparatively modest price. I ended up with a sense that, while the Hampton Inn & Suites is a perfectly ok midrange hotel, it may not fully deserve its ranking. My view is no doubt colored by the fact that my room was "atriumview." This meant that it faced the roofed-over interior courtyard--and got no natural light. This wasn't ideal, especially as I had a problem closing the curtains facing the courtyard. Also, although it was a no-smoking room, when I first moved in, there was a very faint smell of stale tobacco smoke; this matters to me. Let me add that the room (except for the smoke issue) was completely clean, there were lots of lights, and they all worked, as did the free wifi. The breakfast buffet was fine (although, in a country where that believes in strong flavors, a bit bland). Staff members were very pleasant. The location was perfect. And the reuse of a colonial-style building was really quite admirable.

In other words, I had a good time at the Hampton Inn & Suites. I'm just not sure it's one of the best hotels in Mexico City.

This hotel was exactly what I was hoping for and expecting. The staff were great and spoke PERFECT english! It was definitely worth paying the extra money for the breakfast to be included - the buffet had a GREAT selection of food: hot, cold, bread, waffles, fruit, juices!!!! It was delicious! The location was also perfect! Within walking distance of so many great sites, close to the Metro for cheap travel to other sites of Mexico City. It was amazing and I would definitely stay there again if given the opportunity. Love it!

Great hotel for a great price! Super nice staff, clean, comfortable and awesome location. The adjacent pastry shop/restaurant and Fisher's seafood joint are pretty darned good too. There's a 24-hour pharmacy right next door for all your needs plus loads of businesses lining the streets.

The complimentary breakfast and free all day coffee just can't be beat. I absolutely loved the terrace too! I highly recommend this place to anyone and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the 5th floor since that's where the terrace is! It's nice to walk out...

We stayed for 3 nights in January 2013. While our room was a little old-fashioned, both the room and shower room were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was pleasant and coffee and tea were always available. We would like to highly recommend the staff (including Erick, Ericka, Rhode and Martin) who were at all times courteous and helpful. While very central for sight-seeing, the interior of the hotel remained calm and restful. We would be happy to stay there again.
