“Nice, comfortable, room a little small”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012 via mobile

This hotel is very accessible and it is practically in the Zona Rosa. The restaurant La Mansion a very good restaurant is in this hotel. The other restaurant has a very good buffet breakfast. I am surprised that this hotel doesn't offer free Wifi. Internet access is not cheap and it is complicated to connect to. Mi room was clean and the bed comfortable but the room was a bit small. The desk is right in front of the bed with little room to pull the chair out to sit down. The executive floor lounge has a very nice terrace and view of Reforma from it.

This is your average Marriott...rooms decent albeit generic. However, the service is just awful. I stay for the points only, if the JW Marriott was close in price I would be there in a heartbeat! The issue I run into every single stay, the room you reserve will NOT be available because they are perpetually "completely sold out" even though anyone can make a reservation for any day of the year because in reality they are not terribly busy. This past trip, again, no king size beds because they're "full" however the joint was empty. I'm pretty sure they don't like giving out those king size rooms, but if you want one you will need to speak to a manager because that's the only way to get it. The worst part is, they really could care less about your opinion of them and seem like they'd rather you stay somewhere else. I guess if we all did that they wouldn't have to worry so much about giving up those king size beds.

After a frantic 13hr flight from Scotland via Amsterdam i arrived at this hotel and was asked for a Credit Card to back up breakages etc. I did not have a credit card as the whole stay had already been paid for in full, some months ago. I was then asked for 100,000 MexPs (the full cost of my stay) as a deposit, which i did not have and if i had would not have paid. Worn out and tired i had to argue my case with the receptionists. Eventually getting a key to my room some 1 hour later!

Next morning when I took breakfast i was asked to pay, a waiter took me to the reception where they found the vouchers for my breakfasts in a drawer. My room key was deactivated and i could not use the lift nor get back into my room. All because i did not have a credit card!

I wanted to phone reception to get access to the internet and they had turned off my room phone! Im 6000 miles from home on my own, with no access to phone or internet, what if i had taken ill?

They were avoiding me running up a bill, please remember my accommodation had been paid in full earlier! I felt so uncomfortable and like i was a criminal!

The last day i requested a late check out by phone and they advised me the cost but on actual check out i had to pay more plus taxes they had not told me about.

Not a pleasant stay at all, no one seemed to care and did nothing to help me out. It turned out to be a long week of worry and strain. Customer care doesn't seem to have been heard of in the Mexico Marriott Reform. I was glad to get out and put it all behind me.

The hotel itself was great and the standards of cleanliness were fine, room and bed comfy and breakfast was good.

I hope this will help other travelers from having similar troubles at this hotel because it really did spoil my visit. I wont be staying at this hotel again should i visit Mexico again!

Room Tip: Make sure you take the credit card you gave on booking and that your hotel room faces the front stre...

Nothing wrong with the Marriott Reforma, but several small things make me wonder whether I would ever return. On the plus side, it's centrally located for the business district, handy for the hop on/hop off tourist bus and the concierge staff were extremely helpful from giving directions to organising taxis. Food was good, although some of the options at breakfast may not be for the more delivate palates - think spicy Mexican food - but there was plenty of choice for the less adventurous.

On the down side I added a request (hotel acknowledges that all requests cannot be fulfilled) but I had a week on 10th floor looking at the grey wall others mention. It is about 8 feet away.
There was also a dispute over the mini bar and I was made to feel out of order for challenging the bill and definitely made to feel it was my fault that something had alegedly gone missing; despite different conversations at the hotel and since, Marriott refused to acknowledge that it was their mistake and charged me anyway. Since the mini bar cannot be locked, it's a risk every guest is going to run. Just hope guests don't get accused of drinking the bottle of Chivas Regal! Lastly, paying for wifi in a business hotel seems unreal in this day and age, but once you've paid at least you can use the high-speed internet with no additional charge.

Went to Mexico City for a concert and decided to book the Marriott at Reforma Avenue. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed (a little bit small if you ask me but the bed is extremely conformable which is extremely important to me). My room did not have a view it was facing the building next door, which is a gray building, you may want to ask for a room on the east side.

The location is fantastic, along Paseo de la Reforma and just a few minutes’ walk to the wonderful districts of Condesa, Roma, and Polanco. All of them full of hip galleries, restaurants, shops and leafy avenues. If you decide to tour the city the best way is riding the “Touribus” you can take this bus just a block away from the hotel you will have two options if you walk to the left the stop is by the “Angel de la Independencia” and if you walk to the right you can take it at the shopping mall “Reforma 222”. The hotel is in the Zona Rosa area wow it changed a lot since the last time I visited and it could use some new business (looks a bit dated and retro if you ask me).
The staff at the hotel was incredibly professional and friendly. The only down part is that I got food poisoned with the breakfast. However my stay was very pleasant and I would go back and stay there.

. . which is also great for tourists. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed, but a bit on the small side. My room (on the east side) had a very good view of Paseo de la Reforma, but be careful NOT to get rooms on the other side of this establishment. A 30 story highrise abuts it, so rooms on the west side have a spectacular view of an ugly, grey wall. Really. It's just a foot away from the Marriott.

The location is central, along Paseo de la Reforma and just a few minutes walk to the wonderful districts (colonias) of Condesa and Roma, full of hip galleries, restaurants, shops and leafy avenues. The hotel is in the Zona Rosa, which has seen better days - it's very dated, very eighties.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side have views. Whatever you do, avoid getting rooms on the west side.

Very disappointed in this hotel. Stayed here for 2 nights. OK, the location is nice, but the rooms are not up to the standard. Small, low, no wifi, bad TV and most important: no daylight. I was just facing another wall and couldnt really see whether it was day or night. It felt like living in a closed shoebox. Will not stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a room at the front and make sure you dont get a room with 2 queen beds as they fill up the whol...
