“Beautiful Ambiance”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

I live in Mx City and had lunch with a friend here last week. We shared a nice vegetable salad and a combination plate which was enough for the both of us. I had a delicious Marguerita, I think they use real limes and not a mix. However, it was expensive and the serving was quite small. Same goes for their Cappuccinos, also small but not expensive. The ambiance is beautiful with lots of colorful tiles and skylights, one looking like Moctezuma's headdress. Service was good and the roaming Mariachi's were delightful to listen but weren't overpowering or obtrusive. We were there in the middle of a Sat. and got right in but I know they get very busy later on in the day. It's close to the main plaza, the Zocalo, so they get a lot of tourists but locals like it also.

“Tradición enCentro Histórico”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Located on namesake street just steps from the Cathedral and Zocalo is place serving up meals since early 1900's. There is not much to the front entrance and you might miss if if you aren't paying attention, but once inside you can appreciate the awe of grand old mexico city. The place is two stories with high ceilings at both levels and plenty of seating. The interior is covered in wall to wall paintings and is well kept. The menu is traditional and the portions are plentiful. There is a small seating room on the top floor near the street which I would recommend.
The prices are certainly not the lowest, but the atmosphere and history compensate.

“Made for tourists”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Too expensive for the service and meals you got. Made for international tourists, they have traditional Mexican meals, but nothing spectacular for people who knows this kind of food.

“Colonial restaurant in down town”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

This is a classic in the historic down town, if you want to feel the old traditional spirit of the city and very mexican food style, here is where you should take a breakfast or lunch.
