We stayed at Alma del Sol for New Years 2005/6. We were referred to the B & B after trying to make reservations as Casa D'Espirits. Del Sol is located right in the heard of Guanajuato and is run by Hugo who is an amazing host. He mingles with his guests and even makes sensational Mexican breakfasts. The rooftop honour bar overlooks the fabulous city and is a great place to chat to other guests or just to unwind and enjoy the view. The rooms are absolutely perfect - Hugo has attended to every small detail. They are large and authentically Mexican with stunning textile decorations. Guanajuato is an amazing town and I thoroughly recommend it, and del Sol, as a destination. We still feel homesick for del Sol!

This B and B is unusual, a small , centrally located and cozy hotel with a general manager, Hugo, who will make sure you have a good time He personally hands guests a list of the highlights in this vibrant city and will create individualized guides to the best museums and restaurants. The B and B is part of a textile exhibit that incorporates some gorgeous textiles into the decor. The breakfast is served on the rooftop with Matisse colors and a delicious and bountiful meal of fresh squeezed juice, rolls, and meat-stuffed burrito. Hugo speaks flawless English and will make sure your stay is memorable.

Stayed at Alma del Sol ([--])in February right b4 its official opening. Its located at Calle Sol #3. The owners of La Casa de Espiritus Alegres Bed & Breakfast in Marfil opened this new B&B, Alma del Sol, right in Guanajuato and it's a delight. Hugo runs it and is incredibly helpful, giving information on just about any topic one needs. It's located about a 5 minute walk from the jardin. The B&B is decorated with textiles primarily from India and Indonesia with some Mexican rugs..very lovely. There is a wonderful rootop area where breakfast is served. Also on the roof there is a lounge area with an honor bar, music and comfortable seating. The view is great. There is a chruch right across the street and its quite nice to hear the bells ringing. Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend checking out this new B&B
