Colourful, clean with helpful staff. Well appointed rooms, good quality linens, towels toiletries. Bed is excellent. Lighting is the best, with a switch beside each bed. Wifi is great, inside the room. The description in Booking.com says no elevator but that’s not true anymore. There’s a new elevator, but it starts at the 1st floor, which is one up from the street. So, you have to go up 1 flight, walk along the corridor beside the restaurant and there is the elevator.
Depending on the other guests, it’s quiet. The 4th floor has an open patio with seating, so if other guests want to party out there, all the other guest rooms looking into the courtyard have to suffer. Because of the weather, there is no need for air conditioners but there is a movable floor fan. The window opens, with a screen. This is a beautifully furnished hotel, where each floor is different, with seating areas all over. The top floor has a terrace with loungers and a patio table with a stunning sunset view. I’d love to return here.

The place was a joy to occupy. Great rooms, and a delicious, cheap breakfast. Fantastic architecturally, like much of the town is. The staff was very patient with my wife and I, who were constantly losing books and forgetting where our room keys were. These folks seemed to actually enjoy helping people. If they're not careful, they could be found out! Jack Ritter

We chose El Mason de los Poetas based on other reviews and could not have been happier. The hotel is wonderful, with GREAT, friendly staff. All is bright and clean. Don't miss the rooftop patio. We chose to go to the buffet breakfast a couple of mornings - The food and service were excellent. The location is central. We cannot wait to go back El Meson!

Absolutely amazing service! Everyone was so attentive and beyond nice. I had a great experience and their rooms were very clean. I would not stay elsewhere when visiting GTO. Their location is convenient and their rooftop allows for beautiful scenery pictures. They also have tour accommodations where they pick you up from the hotel and drop you off near it.

The room is nice and bright with a balcony looking out to the streets and the city. It is not noisy as it appears to be as it is located on a small and quiet street. The lady at the front desk is very friendly with great personality. I felt very welcome. I didn't notice if there is any elevator. I walked up to the room since I only traveled a small backpack. The bathroom though is not well designed. The bathtub and shower unit is elevated so there is a safety issue here. Be careful stepping in and out of the shower/bathtub. Also the street leading to the hotel from center is dark. This is a safe city in general so that would not be a major concern. All in all it is a nice and quiet and clean hotel.
