We are "foodies" by nature. This restaurant had a number of dishes that we found unique and inventive. Be sure to try the cream of cilantro soup - it was amazing. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. Be sure to check out the ceramic collection as it is not the usual Mexican ceramics. We would gladly return!

It's difficult to find a restaurant in Guanajuato that has decent wine, but this one does. The food was general very good. I had delicious mushroom soup to start and a pork chop with a yummy spicy mustard sauce. My husband had the corn soup, which he said was only OK and he had the pork chop with a pineapple, honey sauce that he said was too sweet. But both of our chops were cooked perfectly.

Service was just fine and the room is very well put together.

Excellent romantic ambience in front room. Slow to start. Limited alcohol; no Crown Royal and unable to make a martini. Wine and scotch they have, so we went with that.

The filet was cooked exquisitely: it was medium rare, as ordered, throughout. I mean the ends and edges were as evenly cooked as the center. This alone is extraordinary. The huitlacoche sauce, with mushrooms, was very tasty. I have had better sauces, but not more evenly cooked steak.

The shrimp pasta was also tasty. However, there was a debate about whether the shrimp were fresh (today) or out of a can. The cream and butter sauce provided a lot of forgiveness, but if you are a shrimp lover please weigh in and solve the debate. Yes, we would definitely go back. Beware they stop seating around 9 so make reservations and they do not take credit cards: cash only, but the prices and quality cannot be beat.

This is a nice restaurant, located upstairs away from street noise, with white tablecloths and pleasant atmosphere - paintings on walls, and beautiful (stunning actually) ceramics for sale at the front of the restaurant. My husband and I shared the house salad (greens, light vinaigrette, fresh herbs) which was really good. I had the pasta with asparagus and serrano ham, nicely complemented with fresh dill and shaved parmesan; very good, not heavy at all. My husband had a beef steak dish which was good but not excellent (but we are from the land of great beef so can be picky about it); the vegis accompanying his dish (julienned carrots) were tasty. We each had a glass of sangria.

And that is from someone who has lived in Mexico for over a year. Lovely ambiance, very good service, small menu very well executed. Would definitely return.
