Overrated and expensive for those who love that sort of thing. Yes do go for that big ticket dinner so that you can defend how much you spent there later by saying how wonderful it was...

Was hosted by a Mexican native of the state of Guanajuato. Primarily it is a beautiful and magical venue that tries to be world class. It fails.
Our host tried to order red wine, we were told they were low on wine, they brought him, not a list, but four bottles of wine to choose from. The first bottle chosen was brown in color, one can assume through improper storage and was undrinkable. The second was satisfactory, and at 800 pesos it damn well should have been! The meal was just okay. The staff was borderline combative with our Mexican host. The presentation of my dish was the best part of my restaurant experience. Risotto was beautifully and artfully presented, there is where the magic stopped. Gummy. Other dishes at the table were mediocre at best.
At the end of the meal our host asked for an after dinner drink and was again told due to brisk business the week before they had precious little to offer.
Our bill was high, I am greatful we were hosted, but felt bad for our host who had hopped to impress with Guanajuato's best venue.
I would not return under any circumstance.

The place IS beautiful, no argument there. The service was below average, and the entrees were flavorless, the sides terrible (vegetables were overcooked).
Skip it! Go to Las Mercedes instead, no comparison at all!

"El Jardin de los milagros" lives up to his name. Chef Bricio Domínguez and his team are really creating little miracles with very meal they are preparing. The food is very delicious and everytime you go, you can discover new creations and new flavours. It is the best restaurant in Guanajuato and I can only recommend it. Therefore go and experience the little "milagros" of this outstanding restaurant.
