Frascati may be the first restaurant you see in Guanajuato, or at least the first one you notice. It sits right in the heart of the action. Its second floor setting gives it a great view of the city center. There are several windows that allow a welcome breeze to make the view seem even better. If you are lucky enough to get one of the window tables, you will be able to see Teatro Juarez, the Jardin de La Union, and all the action down in the street. Pretty hard to beat.
The food is fine, especially if you are in the mind for a pizza and a beer or a bottle of wine. On our last visit, my wife and I had a so-called Four Seasons pizza. It was decent; we have no complaints. Our daughters report that they have no complaints about the Margherita Pizza and a pasta dish. As the evening wore on, a lone singer plugged in a stereo accompaniment box and rendered pop tunes such as Alejandro Sanz's "Corazon Partido." Again, no complaints.
In sum, this is a place where you go primarily for the setting. The rest of the experience (food, service, value, etc.) is likely to strike you as perfectly acceptable, but it will not be what you remember. You will remember the view.
