I didn't actually stay here, but did have an occasion to stop in for some help trying to find a hotel that accepted dogs. The young woman at the desk (I unfortunately did not ask her name) went beyond great service in calling a hotel she knew was dog friendly, reserving a room for us, verifying the price, and printing out a map. Another thing I can say about this hotel is that it does have a great location, very near the main cathedral and the center of town. We were there on Sunday afternoon, it was very fun, lots of shopping and activity. This hotel also has parking available.

Hotel is within walking distance of U.S. Consulate, the main cathedral, other beautiful sites and the famous market. It is also close to the restaurant Fonda de San Miguel the most romantic restaurant in Guadalajara---with excellent food. Staff is very helpful. Special thanks to Mario (bell person), Anna and Nancy (front desk) and Sofi (maid). The staff was helpful with directions and recommendations. Free parking and wi fi make it just about perfect. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff are very friendly, and I was really happy with my stay. I would most definitely recommend staying at Hotel Casino Plaza in Guadalajara. They offer great competitive pricing without compromising service or how clean everything is in the hotel and/or rooms. The rooms are very big, clean, and the whole hotel smells nice. The food is was great and priced very competitively.

I actually liked the eco-friendly concept of the hotel rooms. When you left your room and took your key out of the power slot, all power to the room would shut down. This meant that the air conditioning also shut down. Once back in the room, it only took the air conditioner a few minutes to cool the room down again. I think it is a really responsible approach to our ecosystem and appreciate their effort in implementing such a system into their hotel structure.

The hotel is located downtown, within a block or two of big avenues. So, it’s very quiet and close to all of the sights to see downtown, in addition to all of the shops.

I would absolutely stay there again and hope to do so.

Where to start...Well from the get-go customer service was top notch. The parking lot attendant was there right away to meet us at our taxi and help us with our bags. First impression of the hotel, very beautiful and elegant decor. The young lady at the reception desk was really nice and greeted us with a smile. Check-in was super fast and uncomplicated, even though check-in isn't until 2pm, they allowed us to check-in right as we got there, which was around 1230pm. They helped us with our bags up to our room on the fifth floor, and they gave us a map of the area. One thing that struck me as different was they're way of conserving energy. The door key card that is used to open the door, is also what keeps the electricity on in the room. There is a little slot that the card slides into once you open the door right inside the door and once it's in, the electricity to the room comes on. You remove the card as you leave your room, all the electricity in the room turns off. That means no a/c, no tv, nada. Which is fine by me unless you want to leave Casper the friendly ghost watching tv. I do not believe there is a pool or fitness center at this hotel, but I did not ask. Not a deal breaker for me personally.
The rooms are wonderfully decorated, very spacious. We got the 2 bed and I absolutely love the fact that there is no carpet anywhere in this hotel. All very beautiful tile, which to me is automatically equal to a cleaner hotel. No funky smells. As far as the claim I've been seeing about noise problems, I personally did not experience any issues in regards to noise. We were lucky enough to get a room at the end of the hallway, and we never heard any activity outside our door. They had complimentary water for us. Beds are a bit firm, but I slept quite comfortably the whole time. The bathroom was very clean, had only a shower stall, no tub. But the shower stall was so roomy, hate feeling cramped when I'm showering. Internet service was OK, not the greatest, but had a decent connection most of the time. We did not have the chance to eat at the hotel restaurant, maybe next time. The location of the hotel is within a few blocks of the city downtown area. You can see in one of my photos that the cathedral is visible from one of the windows. Very good location, not noisy at all. Around the corner there area a couple of places to eat, a taco stand and a torta stand. Also an Oxxo right across the street or if you prefer a 7-Eleven right around the corner. Very convenient for those late night snacks. I felt it a pretty safe neighborhood. I actually left at 2am one night to go to the Oxxo and didn't see anything shady. If you're up for a walk, San Juan de Dios, the huge market is withing walking distance, I walked there and back, but it is quite a trek, just forewarning you.
Checkout is at 1pm, but since our flight wasn't leaving until nearly 5pm, I asked the young lady at the front desk if it would be possible to checkout at 2pm, and she was more than happy to let us stay an extra hour. And just like when we arrived, the parking lot attendant swiftly flagged down a cab for us to the airport. Was very happy with my stay at this hotel, and will definitely bee staying here again on a future visit to Guadalajara. Highly recommend this hotel, great quality, excellent service.

This is my first time in this hotel and I am typing this directly from room 504! Viva Internet!

The Hotel was built in 2004.

First thing, I agree with the comment about the noise in the hallway. I think the doors are made out of (1/32 inch thick wood, so you "can" hear everything that goes on in the hallway -> Everyting. The couple next door came in and out of their room until 4:00 am... I could have killed them! Tonight, i'm putting in my ear plugs or I'm having a few more drinks!! hahaha.

There is a bar close and you can hear the BOOM BOOM at night. It was over around 4ish. Actually, in the centro, there are bars and noise pretty much everywhere..

Beds are comfortably hard and the pillows ok. Overall the place is very clean. The Staff at the reception worthless. If you try to get any information from them - good luck -> even with getting a smile!

Parking is great! Breakfast was so, so..... Location is close to everything. There is even a supermarket (a Soriana) about 4 blocks away on Juarez.

Purchased my room online on aircanada.com (yes yes) and that was the cheapest price I could find after spending bout 4 hours on the internet. (I am an IT). They even beat the prices on here (tripadvisor.com) which GUARANTEES the prices which I am not going to spend time on! I paid 61.50 Canadian all tx and services included - everywhere else was 69 US including all tx and fees. Overall, at this price I will be returning here the next time.

I almost forgot, the TV stinks because the cable is almost nonexistent, I get about 10 channels..... If you are a TV Buff, bring, or purchase cheap at mercado, DVDs. I was here during "cabanuelos" which mean the rain between the change of seasons from winter to spring...

Internet is good, telmex @ 5mp and up at 0.55 like everywhere else in Mexico.

Hope this satisfies your questions! If it weren't raining, I'd be out there doing something else! hahahahah

Good luck in your hotel shopping! :-)

Ben

Room Tip: AC in all rooms. It's a "minisplit" and looks like it works fine.

This is a good hotel in Guadalajara. Particularly now, whith the Panamerican Games most other hotels are ridiculously expensive! This one may not be very fancy but is very clean, safe and well maintained. Only lacks a Gym. It is very close to downtoun and has a parking lot.

Room Tip: If the room has a window to the street may be noisy, but there is not much trafic in that street at...

we arrived at guadalajara airport and took a cab to this hotel.. the cab driver had never heard of it so he had to ask by radio to see where it iwas.. when we got there.. the outside looked really bad.. in a suspect location.. once inside it was a bit better.. rooms are tiny.. not like the pictures in the website.. doesnt have central AC its a wall mounted unit.. and you cant leave it on when you leave the room. it has a card key access so when you leave the room everything shuts off including AC, TV , lights everything.. was told it had free wifi.. well it did but not in my room.. i was too far up it only worked in the lobby... super noisy at night.. there was a soccer team of kids that showed up.. and i about went outside to tell them to be quiet this wast at like 2 am.. also the name is misleading . .there is NO CASINO>. they said it USED to be a casino.. therefore the name... there is even pictures of a casino on the website!!!.. on the positive side the restaurant is very good... good breakfast. very reasonable prices.. adn since i didnt have many pesos i just had the restaurant bills added to my room.. and paid with my debit card.. worked well.. overall this is probably not for everyone.. that section of the city looked dangeous at night.. website is misleading.. it wasnt a horrible stay but also not what i expected.. hotel is cheap but can get a better place for the price...
