Great location, beautiful ambiance with rich colors and furnishings. The rooms are very lovely and comfortable. Do not miss two things: 1) breakfast in the downstairs restaurant, excellent fruit, yogurt, granola and coffee, and 2) the rooftop swimming pool was divine.

Room Tip: we were on level 3, my room had a window, but not all do as many face the interior courtyards. The w...

Hotel Morales is a classic and efficient hotel. It has a elegant lobby, an excellent pool and exercise room. The staff is very helpful, pleasant and can speak English well. We really worked the front desk with our questions and needs and they were just great! Especially the AM young crew who gave us an enthusiastic thumbs up when we wanted to go to Luche Libre and made sure we were always headed in the right direction when we left for the day. It’s in a great spot: close to many of the attractions in the center of town.
The hotel provides a great door-to-door shuttle service to and from the airport for 250 pesos. They have lots of different rooms so if you don’t like what you see ask to see another room. We moved here from another hotel and we had everything we needed. Also, keep in mind that many hotels in Mexico only gives you a coffee envelope on the first day for free: then they start charging….odd but true.
Tip: there is a great little taco/ breakfast shop 1½ blocks (toward the square)from the hotel carved into a parking garage. Do eat there! The food is incredible and the coffee is good too!

Room Tip: If noise bothers you ask for something off the street. The rooms vary...some small and some dark.

I want to corroborate the other reviews - the Morales is a gem, gorgeous in every way, with a genuine colonial decor, an outstanding staff that provides excellent customer service. It has a fabulous location - close to many accessible restaurants, and all major sites - and a great restaurant of its own, El Ruedo.
We stayed March 20-24 and enjoyed every minute of it. Prior to our stay, they were excellent in communicating with us, particularly Manuel the concierge. Their responsiveness facilitated our trip planning ahead of our departure.
No matter what we did during the day and evening out in the wonderfu Guadalajara and vicinity, we seemed to end up later at night, before retiring to our rooms for a good night sleep, sitting down at the comfy chairs in the lobby, between Reception and the restaurant, to have a drink and people watch. After the first night, we had a small community of at least three other guests who joined us and we all got to know each other.
Thank you, team at Hotel Morales, for a memorable and authentic tapatío experience!

This February our group of four took a quick trip to Guadalajara just to get the feel of the place. Our stay at the Hotel Morales was fantastic. Our rooms were a great size and nicely appointed. It is right in the heart of all the old vintage buildings and historical sites. There sitting and lounging areas had some of the best chairs I have ever sat in. Breakfast at the hotel was easy to take; we did the buffet one morning and ordered of the menu the next day, both were quite good. Our tour guide Abraham from AmazingToursPV was amazing to say the least. He spoke fantastic English and his knowledge of Mexican history and customs was phenomenal. On the way to Guadalajara we saw opal mines the town of Tequila. Before leaving Guadalajara we did lots of shopping and then stopped at an ancient ruin on our way back to Puerto Vallarta. We would have no issues staying at this hotel again, nice place, great location and pleasant staff to deal with
We will use the service of Abraham and this company next year to go to Mexico City and back. If you have any questions about the hotel or our tour guide drop me a line.

Spent four nights here in March 2014.. Hotel is very attractive, built around interior courtyard with four floors. Restaurant with live piano music during the breakfast hours. Nice pool on the fourth floor with some sitting areas and a small gym. Roof terrace on the fifth floor with some okay views of Guadalajara and some good sitting areas. Room was average, nicely furnished with a good shower area. Would suggest that you get an outside room is you want to see outside.... there was some street noise with the doors open, but it was fairly quiet with the doors closed. The inside rooms only have a window on the corridors in the hotel, you would have to leave the drapes closed so that no one could look into the room.
Location is excellant. Only 5 blocks south of the Cathedral and plazas.... near the market.... the plaza at San Francisco is across the street with lots of venders and some good food. Several gay bars just down the street for some late night action. A little distant to California bar, but I made the walk several times without a problem even late at night... about 15 blocks. Felt very safe and comfortable in all of the centro area.

We stayed for 8 days at Hotel Morales and as we unfortunately do not speak Spanish, I credit it for making our entire stay in Guadalajara very enjoyable. All the employees are very accommodating and helpful from beginning to end. The location is excellent to everything one might want to see and do. Through the hotel the Concierge even contacted a private and accredited English-speaking guide to give us a tour of the historical area, all on the same day of our enquiry.

The meals at the restaurant was excellent as well! Delicious pancakes, Tortillas soup, Parmesan Chicken seafood, yummmmm. We looked forward to enjoying most of our meals there and the cost was very reasonable.
