We were a bit disconcerted when we arrived. La Artesanal is tiny, on a street corner in a residential neighborhood. Plank tables, no frills. Then we saw the grill! Everything was delicious, the 'arrachera' cut was tender and juicy, guacamole made on the spot. The only tequila is 7Leguas, which is very good indeed. Empanadas/pastry pies were out if this world. Freshly made dough from a friend of he owner's. Pies are filled and fried in the spot. They also grill 'chistorras' a spanishstyle thinner version of the Paprika chorizo from Spain. Those come in a perfectly grilled spiral, so very good! They make the best corn tortillas I've ever had, Fernando was on the grill, what a pleasure to talk to, and very informative. We were too full to eat dessert, but the selection was all homemade. It's a neighborhood joint with excellent food. Great place to have a cold beer and good food with family or friends.
