“Nice rooms, short staffed”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

As always the rooms @ the Westin are amazing. We spend a couple of nights and it took 45 minutes to unload our luggage from our car and made a few mistakes around reservations on restaurants we requested. we found out the valet parking doing as concierge, room service and bell boy. Maybe it was the holidays but certainly this is not what you wpuld expect from a Westin

Nice clean modern rooms, well equipment. Efficient staff. Good breakfast spread, good room service. Nothing much to complain.

Had dined in the restaurant once but twas not impressed by food. The fish fillet was overcooked !
Moved to Hilton next door for dinner since they had good buffet spread. Though the room service or breakfast food was pretty good.

The only observation was that the place lacks character and is really a business hotel. It was like any other hotel in any part of the world with no hint of being in Mexico.

Also note that the hotel does not take US$ in cash due to government restrictions and the money changer at next door Hilton gives a very poor rate.

This is a nice hotel. The rooms are modern, quiet, and have very high quality fixtures. Yes, you have to check in for WiFi every day but it takes less than a minute. The work-out area is a little small but well equipped. I was there with a company group so we had the bar area for a private function which worked out very well.

Like some other travelers, only some minor quibbles. The check in process took forever (literally it took 22 minutes, with 3 people in line to start with). The breakfast room is not really set up for a quick "have to go" meal. And, again while a small issue, somebody needs to learn how to actually use the espresso machine.

All in all, though, this is where I'll stay when I go back to Guadalajara

I have spent several nights here now and was much more pleased on my later visit. The first time I had several service issues but was contacted by management which was much appreciated.

The second visit I had a great room on the 20th floor with a view over the EXPO center. The check in staff was extremely busy as they had a huge check in that day but they had plenty of staff upfront this time and check in went much smoother this time. Great front desk staff. I used the Valet, ate in the restaurant on the second floor and was very impressed. The staff overall were great.

The room itself is like all Westins, very soothing and comfortable with a great bed. Nothing to complain about at all, except, all the plug ins seemed to be loose in the wall and it was next to impossible to use the hair dryer. I moved it from the bathroom to the bedroom and every time you gave the slightest pull on it would shut off. Other than the hair dryer I was able to plug in my other things, which did not move once plugged in, without any problems.

I still would like a club lounge, and the shower still doesn't have a double shower head like most Westins but overall I would have no problem recommending this hotel based on my last stay.

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are beautiful and the sleep quality is extraordinary. I appreciate the business center and the front desk staff is OUTSTANDING.

The only area that was off the mark was the breakfast area. They are confused in terms of service and it is impossible to just get a bagel and coffee when you are on the run. They can improve here. But I would return in a heartbeat.
