“Great value, good location and a helpful staff.”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

Our stay was really pleasant, thanks to the kind and helpful staff. We got an early check-in without any trouble, the room was always clean and the hotel wasn't noisy despite being on a very busy avenue.

Some of the features in the room could use an update (like the A/C unit) but it all worked perfectly.

The buffet was good, the gym was big enough for several people to use at the same time. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel in Guadalajara has been around forever, truly an icon in front of the Minerva fountain. I have stayed here many times years ago, remembering how dated and worn the rooms and common areas were becoming. Well finally they are updating and renovating the guest rooms which is a huge improvement. I stayed here twice over the last few months and enjoyed it very much. Rooms are more mondern and very comfortable. Food is decent, room service attentive. Can't beat the location, incredibly convenient to get around Guadalajara. Valet is prompt. Front desk service efficient. Only real complaint is that during both stays 1-2 of the elevators were out of service. Good value. Will stay here again.

This is a very well located hotel, close to everything in Guadalajara. I must admit the service was outstanding. People were very nice and always willing to help, one of the best hotels I've been in Mexico when it comes to service. The rooms are spacious with great views of the city, they are also very well insulated, so you won't hear your neighbors. The breakfast was delicious, although the dinners are not worth it. The price is just about right for the business traveler or the family looking for a good place to stay while they visit the city. Now, I'm big on new or historic hotels with charisma. This one lost it's flare a long time ago. It needs to be renovated from the bottom up. The rooms are not bad, but it just doesn't feel special. The gym has everything you need but it's from the 80s, as well as everything else.

Room Tip: choose from floor 15 and up, the rooms are nicer and you'll get a much better view

Good location in Guadalajara, if you are on a business trip.
Rooms are clean but there are things that could be remodeled, specially in the bathroom.
Friendly staff. Drinks at the bar are a bit pricey.
Buffet at the hotel was good, they even have tortas ahogadas, the bad thing was that the main restaurant does not have service until past 7am, but there is a coffee shop just across the street.

The very best service that I have encountered in a hotel in Latin America! Their friendliness completely made up for their not-so-great water pressure. Good location. Ok food. But I can't say it enough: The best service in Latin America! :)

I had no choice but to stay there due to firm convention. Hotel needs major renovation. Rooms need to be redone, and you can hear breakfast plates on ground floor (all the way from the 12th floor), although my colleagues didn't hear ground floor food plates on the 20th floor. The rugs are old and you can also hear mostly everything going on in your neighbor's room, including conversations, phone, alarm, opening and closing doors, toilets flushing, and more..... Also, the elevators require your room card to activate your destination floor and if more than 3 people are on the elevator and you are the 4th person swiping the card, or later, chances are, you missed your stop. On the other hand, keeping with Mexico's tradition of friendly and high quality service oriented attention, the service personnel was really good, but it wasn't enough for me to go back given a choice of many very good hotels in Guadalajara, and I will probably convince my company not to do another convention there. The Gym is small and what is there is awful and needs major investment there too. The food was beyond bad.

From the elevators that mostly don't work or are so slow I could order a pizza waiting for them to the a/c in the roolm that didn't cool until the sun went down to the smell of sewage outside the front entrance....take a pass. I won't be back.

Room Tip: Try a different hotel...
