“Great low cost option”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2007

Hotel Posada Regis is an excellent option for travelers to Guadalajara who do not need a five star hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable but rather dark and plain. The rooms on the street side are noisy, so if you are a light sleeper, ask for one on the other side of the building. The downside to these are that they lack windows and a view. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This hotel is very old and does not have the comforts of a modern hotel. However, when I travel I spend my time out and about and, these do not seem necessary. If you feel that way, this is the place for you.

Great quirky old old place...130 years old. Large high ceilinged rooms arranged around a huge interior courtyard. Pleasant place to stay. Rooms on streetside have balconies opening onto busy street below. So can be noisy, but fun to watch the goings on below. Not without its problems. Up a steep steep flight of stairs up which you must lug your luggage. The first room I was put in had NO faucets on the shower. Hence no shower. Other than that it was a fun place to stay. Staff adequately helpful.

This is a very cute old building in a great location. The room is basic. The bathroom is tiny, tiny, tiny. Right next door is a cafe that has free wireless (which you can pick up from your room). It is a good deal for the price, but don't expect luxury.

This place was so great! It costs around 30.00$ a night and it is located near many landmarks in Guadalajara. The rooms are pretty big with high ceilings. Friendly staff too!!

Our overall impression of the Pasada Regis was friendly and comfortable, and a great value. We were instantly taken by the hospitality and graciousness by Maurichio and Veronica from the moment we arrived. Maurichio is the consumate host, going out of his way to see to every need. His excellent english speaking abilities and willingness to be supportive actually saved our vacation during a freak dental emergency that occurred before my fiance and I even got to Guadalajara. I had a front (center) crown fall out, to make a long story short. Paniced that I’d spend the next two weeks of vaction looking like a hockey player, he was quickly on the case, almost no questions asked. He proceeded to not only contact an uncle that happened to be a dentist, but he drove me there personally to get it taken care of the first day in town. So...on top of really enjoying our stay and our hosts, we owe Maurichio a huge dept of graditude for effectively saving our vacation. Muchas gracias.

This is a really beautiful hotel on the inside. The rooms are small but comfortable with cable t.v. (with remote for $100 pesos deposit [about $10 USD]) There is no airconditioning but room does have a fan. The bathroom is basically a really large shower stall with a sink and toilet in the same space. It wasn't bad though. The room I had had 2 doors that open onto a small balcony overlooking the street. There were 2 double beds, a small dresser with an attached mirror and small night stand between the beds with a telephone. In the lobby they have a small locked refridgerator with soda, water and beer if you want to buy a drink. There is also 1 computer with internet access and a sign that says $20 pesos ($2 USD) per hour, but I don't think they really charge it uless you offer the $$ or onless you are on-line for an extended period of time. The only annoying thing about this place is that you have to be buzzed in when you come in and get buzzed out when you want to leave. It was really only annoying when I wanted to leave late at night as the night staff seems to close the door behind the desk and they go to sleep in the small room back there. They never give you a problem and it really isn't a big deal, but if you want a drink late at night from that locked refridgerator, you actually will have to wake them up, where as if you are just leaving, you just ring the bell and the buzz you out without even coming out from behind the closed door. All in all, I would definately reccomend this place without hesitation and would also stay there again. The current price for a one person per night (April 2006) is $330 pesos per night not $260 as their website still states. I think they charge like $30 pesos more for an extra person. Totally a bargain. If street noise doesn't bother you , definately request a room overlooking the street. They will actually show you a few rooms before you make your choice if you ask.

Basic rooms with very high ceiling. Convenient location. Reasonable price - we paid 390 pesos per night. Colonial style building. Across the street, there is a night club which can beome quite noisy.
