Open to the public, this building houses Clemente Orozco's bold frescoes. You can also get into the conference room and imagine a political debate take place.

For those Jose Clemente Orozco followers, be sure to stop by the Palacio de Gobierno to admire the mural. We were treated to a private tour by an elderly gentlemen who gave us the background of the mural in English; he can give the tour in eight languages! Unfortunately, we neglected to take note of his name but he knows everything about Jose Clemente Orozco. This building is beautiful, the large entry doors have incredible detailing. Take your time and walk around the building.

There are some giant Orozco paintings here and a very good little museum shop with better than average prices.

If you like Mexican Murals then this is the place for you. It is full of them. Take time to read all the explanations. One gets a good bit of history here.

A recent visit to Guadalajara led us to Liberation Square where we were able to tour many plazas and buildings. The Palacio is the capital building for the state. Unlike in the US, this building had easy access with no security checks. The architecture was beautiful as well as several ceiling paintings. Our hosts in Mexico gave us a brief history lesson as we were on our self guided tour. We were even able to enter the chambers where the voting occurs. Well worth our time. Make sure you have a tour guide or read about the building when you tour.
