Nice to be able to move about freely in a Govt (State) institution. Great mural of Hidalgo fighting oppression and slavery on the ceiling when going up the stairs. Well preserved building.

“Niecely preserved government building”

I actually was directed there to find an exhibit on tequila, which I didn't find but the murals alone were worth the visit. It was actually quite calm on a Sunday afternoon with just a few visitors.

“The murals!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

This is a lovely (and cool) classically colonial building of stone with a courtyard in the middle. The main attraction for us was the dramatic and historical murals both in the stairway and in the meeting room for the congress. Worth a stop.

“VERY BEAUTIFUL”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2013

Surrounded by tons of polica with guns ! Get used to it in Mexico ! They are not overly friendly but they have a job to do You ll often find peaceful protests here too Dont worry about them. Take the time to read a lot of the information posted inside its a beautiful old building !
