“Not your average Taco”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

Taco's here are FRESH and favorful. I ordered the Carnitas, Asado and Quesidella. The taco are small so order at least two. There are condiments on the table, I had a taste of the guacamole sauce, it was light and tasty. Go with someone who can translate the menu or you might end up eating something like cheek, lips, or tongue. Although some colleagues who ordered the tongue said it was very good. Great atmosphere.

“Great tacos, not much else”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

My first visit to Tacos Providencia, went with some of the Guadalajara co-workers for Dinner. The tacos are very small compared to the American version of tacos, but there are many variations on the menu. Everything from the standard Beef and pork tacos, but also Tongue, cheek, and lip tacos. Go with someone who can read the Mexican menu, or you might end up eating something surprising! :). All the tacos I tried were delicious. I really liked the Dorada tacos, which were the cheapest thing on the menu (about 50 cents American), very similar to what an American would call a taquito. Besides tacos and cold beer, there isn't much else on the menu. No salads, no burritos, no sides. Just a lots of tacos choices, with both typical and exotic fillings. There small, so order a bunch. very informal place, in a nice area.

“Good for a Quick Taco Fix”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

Mind you, Ive had better tacos in the States from taco trucks, but if you're looking for good tacos in a clean sit-down environment, this place is perfect. Although noisy and always busy, your food gets delivered quickly. I found their lengua tacos to be very good although the meat was served as a slice of tongue, rather than chopped. Might be unnerving to the new tongue taco trier, it was very tasty, cooked well, and served with a very delicious salsa. In n out (assuming there is no wait) in less than 20 minutes, ready to spend more time in this great city!

“A force of nature”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

This place has a formula... quick, easy dining of basic taco style dishes in a big, noisy room. These are tacos in Jalisco style... more like tapas than anything most gringos are familiar with. Grilled and fresh and usually good, and the place is usually crowded. A local classic, but not a romantic dining spot.

“Overrated!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

After a one-hour queue, we finally tasted the “famous” Tacos Providencia. Definitely an overrated place. The tacos are fine, but I prefer “Tacos Don Miguelon” that are just two blocks away in Avenida Terranova.
