“Excellent restaurant in Guadalajara”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012 via mobile

This was our first time at Casa Tomas and everything - food, service, ambiance - was terrific. I had the duck confit which was " melt in your mouth" good. Next time I will try some of their fish or seafood. Highly recommended.

“Great dining experience...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2012

Casa Tomas is in a nice old Colonial building with a great wrap-around covered terrace. It a first class operation in every way. Attentive and courteous waiters, excellent chefs who take great pride in what they put in front of you. We've been here many times and even hired two of their chefs to cater a private birthday party in our home. One of our favorite menu items is a large brased beef rib that is cooked very slowly until it's falling off the bone served on a mound of mashed potatoes but there are lots of other choices if you're not into beef. There is a wood fired pizza oven but we haven't tried the pizzas yet...but will soon. It's located on Lopez Cotilla not far from Chapultepec, a beautiful part of the city. They have valet parking. Suggest a reservation if you are going on a weekend.

“Great place for a business lunch - quiet and well-prepared seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2012

We had a wonderful meal prepared by Chef Tomas on our first visit to the restaurant. Lovely baby calamari, marlin flautas, and seabass prepared two ways. Excellent service, the seafood was cooked perfectly (probably the best marlin dish I've had in Mexico so far as it can be dry at times, and the flautas were moist on the inside with two lovely sauces) and the fish was perfectly cooked. All the staff, included Tomas, were very welcoming. I will definately go back, and now have it on my list of places perfect for a business lunch - ambiance is such that you can hear your table companion speak easily, which is not always the case in popular restaurants in Guadalajara.
