The Canarios (Canary) hotel sits amid very busy city streets with truck traffic immediately outside the compound. Step inside their gate and the city disappears. You find yourself surrounded by incredibly beautiful & immaculately manicured grounds with multiple wading pools throughout. The rooms are bigger than European and smaller than USA standards. Starkly beautiful, the room will do for the night.

Stayed here November 6-8 2018. I had never been to Cuernavaca before and picked it out on booking.com. It was a good choice. It is reminiscent of a '50s tourist court in the US, but it spotless and modern. It is also just a ten minute walk to the Centro district. thre staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Luis the bell captain, whose English was a lot better than my Spanish. The air conditioning and shower were both great, and all this for under $40.00 US per night.

The hotel is convweniently situated and gave a good impression visually as you enter.
First our 11.30am check-in the room was not available so had to change and leave bags for later. On arriving back at almost midnight we were told we were not registered. Despite filling in registration AND paying . Several minutes of checking computor and papars did not resolve. Then the receptionist attended to another client , similar problem but resolved after a while as he shouted a lot ( ?), Back to me and after a phone call was given a room . Well the room (33) was appeared average but resulted that a water pump and banging pipes kept us awake most of the night and a lot of street traffic noise .
No apologie offered when we complained so....
Bad organisation and obviously the worst room destroyed the first impression .
Fortunately nearby there are other hotels to choose from.

Room tip: AVOID at all costs 33. Garden rooms are better located to avoid street noise.

The grounds are lovely and the room was comfortable. I was a bit worried as we hiked up the noisy Avenida Morelos but inside the property is a little slice of tropical paradise. We went over Easter weekend and the hotel was packed with very nice families who were gathered around the three tiered pool with waterfall surrounded by well kept grounds. The water was really nice and warm. The other guests staying there were really nice - it was mostly families on vacation.

Our 8 year old flooded our room (he thought he could stop up the drain and the water wouldn't leak through the shower door) and they somehow got all the water out and dried the room in a few hours while we were out. A special shout out to the very nice staff who helped us during our stay!

Also - we made our reservations through Expedia and found out later no longer works with Canarios so be sure to confirm your reservation in person with the hotel if you book online. We wish we could have stayed two nights instead of just one!

Hotel Canarios is a hotel/motel with comfortable rooms. Extremely quiet given its location. Modest in price and facilities. Only breakfast is available for food. The staff is helpful. A small swimming pool suitable for dipping and children. Free Wi-Fi
