“Great Service, Beautifull Place... a bit expensive”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We (wife, daughter 11, son 9) ended up staying one night here because it was a long weekend and our usual hotel was booked full. The hotel is downtown in Cuernavaca and its like a oasis amidst chaos in a semi-commercial district. The place is impeccable, and the attitude of the personnel is very nice and service oriented. The temperature of the pool water was cold and as such my kids were not able to take a swim. The menu of the restaurant is very good for breakfast and lunch, but the dinner menu turned out to be the same as the lunch menu, which becomes a problem if you want a light dinner. $210 Dollars for a night is a bit overpriced (specially given the location and limited activities for kids), but then again a family is probably not their target market.

Room Tip: We stayed @ the Michoacan Room.. very beautifully decorated... its really 2 rooms in 1...as you have...

We stayed at the lovely La Casa Azul for three nights mid-October while in town for a wedding and were very pleased overall. The hotel is really fantastic. The wedding party occupied a good portion of the hotel so we got to see many of the rooms, which are all unique and wonderfully detailed. We got a two-story suite and found the room nice. The stairs leading to the upper level were steep, and the initial ceiling was low (don't bump your head!!) but room upstairs was fantastic.

The bathroom was nice, but showing a bit of age. The hot water took forever to make its way to the faucet, and keep the showers short or you will run of hot water (we did). The beds were comfortable and the TVs were newer flat screens with many channels to choose from. The wi-fi was also convenient and the signal strength was good.

The service is fantastic, the food was better than average. The front desk even changed dollars/pesos for us, which was very convenient (at a rate better than AMEX).

We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Since we were looking for great hotels to offer our foreign patients we found this excellent hotel with unique and individualized designed rooms with all the Mexican charm. Excellent food and very comfortable rooms, the staff is always prepared to attend all kind of guests.

My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at La Casa Azul. It truly is a gorgeous property . . . very comfortable and very inviting. We would linger over breakfast (included . . . eggs or pancakes, juice or fruit, fresh pastries) and coffee and had a very difficult time pulling ourselves away each morning to get started on the day's events! We had dinner in the hotel twice . . . due to our being exhausted and just wanting to take the "easy" route at the end of a long day. Good food and wonderful setting. Only possible complaints here are that the menu was somewhat limited and mixed drinks were not offered. Just wine and beer, I believe.

The staff (with the exception of one front desk worker, who seemed new) were fantastic and accommodating. Anything we needed . . . change of cash, help with the garage, iron, glass of wine . . . . you name it, we had it immediately.

The room was beautiful. My only possible complaint was that our AC unit was a little weak in the heat of midday. The bathroom was enormous, with plenty of space to place/store our toiletries and other supplies. In-room safe. Loads of storage space in the bedroom itself. Very comfortable bed. A television set hidden in a cabinet . . . but which we never even turned on. A well-stocked minibar.

Outdoors . . . 2 pools and many seating options. Gorgeous plantings. Very quiet at all times of the day and night.

Very short walk to central attractions. Easy to find by car. We were constantly taking our car into and out of the garage, as we were part of a weekend wedding celebration in the southern suburbs AND also doing a lot of touring of the nearby towns and sites.

This place is beautiful, I'll have to go back :) Each room features the artwork of an artist, decorated in a unique traditional style representing different regions of the country. We had a room called Olinalá Quetzales. The restaurat is very good, highly recommended!

Cuernavaca may have been charming in the times of Cortez, Maximillian or Malcolm Lowery, but it is now busy, loud and full of traffic. The 'burbs, where wealthy people have their homes, are lovely, but the center is congested. Nonetheless, it is possible to think of what the city must have been - and to visit some intriguing places that make a short visit worthwhile.

Casa Azul is close to the center, but once you are behind its walls, it is a lovely oasis of calm and beauty. The rooms are decorated according to folk art traditions of different parts of Mexico. And the staff is friendly and expert.

Room Tip: We stayed in a junior suite which is really a large room, on the second floor. You must use the stai...

Administration just changed but it was better before.
rooms are very charming each one different. Service is good, they have 2 parking places, restaurant is good too.
I came with a group but they changed prices and names of the rooms without notifications and had to struggle to get the same price i was offered before.. so a tipical bad administration of an hotel of Cuernavaca.
