We are presently staying at Bungalows La Madera. The room is clean and large, and includes a refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, etc. Mark has been readily available to answer questions, give directions, etc. And, very important to us, there was no problem with bringing our two small dogs! Secure, lovely pool, and direct beach access.

This was our 6th visit to Zihuatanejo. We booked for the first two weeks in November. We have stayed at Hotel Irma and Casa Sun And Moon in the past and we wanted something that neither of the two could offer, a large clean nice room with a full kitchen and a swimming pool overlooking the bay. We got both at Bungalows La Madera.

We booked suite 17 and I think it's the best room in the place. Great view, large terrace, nice pool, flat screen cable TV and a very well equiped kitchen. We couldn,t have picked a better place to stay. We will return on our next trip.

Had a great time in Zihua and enjoyed the location of the hotel, views of the beach, the lovely swimming pool and cooking in the kitchen. Of course, Zihua is in the tropics and critters are to be expected. However, there was a gang of territorial roaches who came out at night (every night for our 3 night stay) who were quite possessive of their bathroom. Not one or two, but roaches that travelled in packs - it was impressive (and I am from new orleans - the land of aggressive flying roaches). And no hot water, at least we didn't have any for our stay. That aside, lovely place and I'd recommend with the roach and cold water caveat.

Initially, I have to say, I was reluctant to give a review on Bungalows Madera. The reason being that I didn't want too many people to know about this hidden gem of a hotel. We have been coming here for about 6 years and now stay across the street in one of the hilltop units. We prefer to stay on the "city side" because of the view of the city lights, etc., at nighttime. We also love the wonderful breeze and big decks on this side. I can't say enough about this place and with kitchens, pool and just steps down to the beach, Bungalows Madera is just perfect for us. We also feel very safe there and can't quite understand all the propaganda around vacationing in Mexico. We have never felt in the least threatened in all the time that we have been coming to this part of Mexico and in fact, we are booked for next year.
