Wow. What a great property and a wonderful vacation. I am so happy with Cinco Sentidos I am writing this review in the airport on the way home. What so many reviews have said are absolutely true...

Great location and view.

Wonderful privacy.

Exceptional breakfasts.

Extraordinary service.

We really appreciate the fact that the pools on the decks are heated. We have been to places that had unheated plunge pools and they were so cold we couldnt enjoy them.

Finally, our flight home was cancelled because of weather and so we had to scramble to make alternate arrangements. We ended up staying in Zihua/Ixtapa to two additional nights. The first night there was room at Cinco Sentidos and Araceli and Heiko made arrangements for us to stay there. Becuase they had no room the final night my wife and I decided to stay in Ixtapa. The personal touches from Araceli and Heiko made all the difference. They...

1. Took our clothes to the laundry and delivered back to our room. (total cost $5usd)

2. They gave us a totally unnecessary discount on the room for the additional night.

3. Araceli drove us in her own car from Cinco Sentidos to the hotel in Ixtapa!

While the location, town, and privacy are all wonderful it is the service that will bring me back year after year!

This little boutique hotel is breathtaking. Not the cookie cutter experiance- lots of character and privacy and beatiful flowers. The rooms are huge and spitpolished clean. Each suite has a comfy private balconey and either all the neighbours are mute or they've managed to create great sound barriers- you truly feel you are the only person looking out onto the bay. Our hosts Arceli and Heiko obvously have a background in upscale properties because they have turned their little 5 room boutique hotel into a 5 star. Breakfasts (photos attached) are included and are beautiful to look at and to eat. The private lap pool on each deck is heated just right

My g/f and I just got back from spending 7 nights at Cinco Sentidos and it was one of the best vacations we've ever had.

As all the other reviewers have mentioned, Heiko, Araceli and the staff are amazing people. Heiko is an excellent chef, and every day we couldn't wait to have breakfast and see what he cooked up that day. The breakfast is served on a patio overlooking La Rapo beach and out into the pacific, I'm really not sure how it could get much better.

With only 5 rooms, even if the hotel is full, it still seems like you're the only ones there. You'll see the other guests at breakfast, but with the way the rooms are set up, evenings and nights we could never tell if anyone else was home or not, so peaceful.

We stayed in a Jr Suite. Just like the pictures, great open room, huge shower, two sinks, safe, fridge, hanging space, ironing board, etc. Excellent patio with beautiful view of the beach and sunsets over the ocean. When we would walk home from our day at the beach everyday, we would stop by the corner store on the main road right next to the hotel, pick up a six pack, and go hang out on out patio in the infinity pool and watch the sun set, I could do that every day of the year!

Like a majority of the hotels along La Ropa, Sentidos is up on a hill, so there is a small hill and some steps to climb, but I just looked at it as my chance to work off some beer from the day. Anyways, if you really need to, there's a cab stand up the road from Paty's/Elvira's so if your feeling too lazy, just hop in one and they'll drive you up.

We actually spent every day hanging out at La Perla, $5 gets you chairs and an umbrella all day, they have tons of space, great inexpensive food/beer, and a front row seat to the ocean.

Food -

La Perla - great inexpensive lunches/dinners (we had 2 dinners and 6 lunches there) Paty's - similar to La Perla,
Amuleto - it's an experience if you don't mind going over the top $$$,
La Casa Que Canta - not quite as expensive as Amuleto and also something to expericence at least once if you have money to burn
Il Mare - great italilan food, amazing view, all for under $60
Los Braceros - in town - if it was closer, I would have eaten there every day!! Huge menu, all in english, anything and everything you want, from Break to Dinner.

You know it's a good trip when you're already planning your next trip while you're still there. The 7 days went by so fast, but it was so relaxing, the weather is perfect, and Zihua is a beautiful town!

A couple things to note from preview reviews.

1) Water pressure is fine, no issues at all.
2) More than enough hot water, was never an issue.
3) Heiko has the heaters up and running for the pools, so they feel like warm pool water all the time, perfect for climbing into when you get back from beach, not too hot, not too cold.
4) Heiko also had a brand new main front entrance door installed that looks great (see pics)

We're already planning our trip back next year and have started the office countdown!

Any questions, feel free to shoot me a message!

Cinco Sentidos is a wonderful small hotel in Zihuatanejo. The rooms (and bathrooms) are spacious and tastefully decorated with private plunge pools on the deck and fantastic views. They also have a beautiful pool where we spent many relaxing afternoons. As everyone who has stayed there mentions, Heiko prepares a fabulous breakfast every morning - some of the best food we have had in Zihuatanejo! It's a wonderful start to the day, sitting outside, looking over the bay, eating a delicious breakfast and talking with Araceli, Heiko and the other guests. We hated to miss breakfast but we went fishing a couple times and Heiko prepared a wonderful picnic basket to us to take on the boat. Heiko and Araceli go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating with many personal touches. Diego and Judith keep your rooms spotless and the grounds well-maintained. It's a great location and easy to walk to the beach or town (even with the little hill). We will definitely be back!

Relaxing on our private deck, with our private plunge pool, up on a hill top looking out on the pacific ocean, with not a care, was the absolute perfect way to spend our honeymoon! Zihuat and the location of Hotel Cinco Sentidos was perfectly safe to come and go and walk the few blocks to the beach or even into town for dinner. There is a steep hill to climb to get back to the hotel from the beach, but the view makes it worth it! Heiko provided the most amazing breakfast spread every morning...we barely needed lunch, mostly just snacked on fruit and wine, till we felt like venturing into town on foot or by $2 cab for dinner. Our junior suit was so perfect, we even had the opportunity to upgrade to the grand suit a couple nights into our stay, but loved our room so much we didn't feel the need to upgrade.....even though we would love to stay up in the grand suit next time....which hopefully there WILL BE!
Thank you so much to Heiko, Aricelli, Judith, and Diego for such hospitality.
We felt so taken care of, watched out for, and pampered by your friendliness, professionalism, knowledge, and connections.
WIth only 5 rooms you can really feel the difference in personal service as compared to a larger hotel. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone!

We stayed at Cinco Sentidos for seven days in December, This place is absolutely incredible. The entire grounds are spotless and beautiful. Our room was spotless and beautifully furnished. Heiko and Araceli obviously take great pride in ownership. Heiko is a professionally trained chef so breakfast is outstanding. You can't complain about eating poolside every morning in beautiful weather with wonderful hosts! Nobody wanted to leave on an early morning adventure because they didn't want to miss breakfast.

I am very particular about where we stay and I could not find a single thing wrong here. Do yourself a favor and don't pass this place up!

Thank you Heiko and Araceli - we will remember your for years to come and if we make it back to Zihuat again we will definitely be staying with you.
