“An absolutely charming little spot!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2012

We came across this unassuming little restaurant while walking in downtown Zihua and went inside, intending to have a cold beer and continue on our way. We decided to share an order of Tiritas (the best we've found anywhere so far, and we've had some everywhere!) It was such an excellent dish, we then decided to share a seafood salad, which turned out to be just as wonderful. Their fish and seafood is fresh, light, and prepared to perfection. No rubbery shrimp or octopus in this restaurant!

The owners, Pepe and Marcella have an excellent grasp of English, and the staff (Gaby, you are SUCH a good cook!) are the warmest people you will find anywhere. You may go there out of curiosity; you will return again and again not only because of the excellent food, but because it is so pleasant to be in this little restaurant with these wonderful people.

Unfortunately, the street is being repaired at present and no doubt this is hurting their business. Don't be intimindated by the dusty street and chunks of concrete. It is well worth watching where you step to reach this pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

“Outstanding fish!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2011

Excellent grilled fish served in a variety of styles in this cozy street cafe. Not much in decor but the food makes up for any deficiencies. The chef/owner is fun and engaging. This is worth your time for an inexpensive meal that excels on taste.

“A great little find....we ate and drank till we were stuffed and spent under $34”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2011

This small restaurant always looked tidy and inviting when we walked by, so we finally tried it. Upon being seated, we were promptly served our drinks, some fresh tortilla chips and 3 types of dips (a delicious mango salsa, regular pico de gallo salsa and a hot green chili sauce). We both ordered fish; the waiter suggested the tuna ajillo style which was cooked with large chunks of garlic and chili peppers sauteed on top. Our other dish was mahi mahi done mexican style (tomatoes, onions etc). Both were very tasty and only 85 pesos each. Desert for us was bananas flambe at a whopping 30 pesos; it was delicious. We both had brandy after dinner, bottled water and we also had a drink before dinner....grand total? $340 pesos (less than 34 bucks).
