Description: Owner/chef Israel Salazar continues to explore and expand the culinary options in Zihuatanejo. Using only first quality ingredients, he creates special dishes that are available nowhere else in town. Israel is widely known for his Thai creations, but he lavishes the same attention and care on his Mexican and Italian offerings. His attentive, bi-lingual floor staff, amazing food, and full bar will make any evening at El Murmullo one to remember.

“Fabulous experience, wonderful food”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

Absolutely excellent once you are ready for a change of pace from local fish menus. Started with the Thai salad and Tuna sashimi. The salad had a very nice dressing and very fresh veggies. The sashimi wasn't traditional- it was seared and rolled in sesame, but impeccably fresh and flavorful. The mains were fettuccine with shrimp and white wine sauce, and filet mignon with mushroom sauce, both cooked perfectly. For something different, try the lime margarita with cucumber and ginger and garnished with chile salt. It was also nice when Chef Salazar came to our table to chat and answered questions about the food, including his Thai salad dressing recipe. Novel and delicious food with a twist, Cafe Murmullo is a must try evening out. I would happily come back again!

“Thai food that you don't want to miss!”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

El Murmullo has so much more than Thai food, but that is the direction we went based on our friends who had been there many times before. We choose Thai Curry with yellow sauce and a Thai Salad. My mouth is watering again just thinking about the wonderful flavors. The chef and owner, Israel, is very accomplished and you can tell he loves to cook and take special care of his customers. We will most definitely be back!

“Great dinner leads to a fun cooking class”
Reviewed March 27, 2014

We had a lovely dinner at El Murmullo and were so impressed with the freshness and flavor of our meals. My husband was pleased to try something different, so had a Thai curry dish which he loved. My dorado was cooked to perfection. I had read on-line about a cooking class and inquired about it the next day based on our outstanding dinner. What a fun hour we spent with Israel learning to make Sopa Azteca and Enchiladas Verde. Truly, one of the better spots in Z!

“Best food in Zihua”
Reviewed March 25, 2014 via mobile

We have eaten all over playa la ropa and in town in Zihua. Murmullo was high on our list of places to try after all of the rave reviews. If you like Thai, pasta and fish, you will not be disappointed. This was our best meal all week for the least amount of money yet! AMAZING!! Eat here! You won't be disappointed!

“Hard to find and average food”
Reviewed March 19, 2014 via mobile

We went to El Murmullo based on TA reviews. Once we found the restaurant, after our cab driver had to call his office to find the location, we were sadly underwhelmed. We shared the Mussels app, probably a mistake in MX, and they were fair. We both ordered the Pad Thai which seems to be the special of the house. Maybe Pad Thai in MX is different than any other Pad Thai we've eaten, but it was different. The sauce and the noodles were both unlike regular Pad Thai as we know it and I couldn't even eat it. We would not recommend this restaurant or at least order something else.
